    Do not miss the gardens!
Wonderful visit in awesome gardens, with a stunning view on the Como Lake. The villa is closed but with a reasonable entrance fee it is possible to enjoy these wonderful gardens, full of amazing trees, bushes and flowers. Superworth a visit when in Bellagio!

    Beautiful Gardens
The gardens here are beautiful. It's a short walk from the ferry and worth it. It was very early spring, but the gardens were still beautiful. It was also very quite. Property is well taken care of and there are amazing views of the lake. It's a nice respite from the crowds in Bellagio.

Pleasant gardens and appealing little museum
Definitely worth doing while you're in Bellagio as it's only a ten minute stroll to the south of the town. Great views up and down the lake and pleasant rolling gardens. There were a few azaleas and rhodies in bloom while we were there but little else by way of colour. But some nice feature trees all well notated. But perhaps the thing we enjoyed most was the little museum documenting the history of the villa and the gardens so remember to spend a few minutes checking this out.

    Beautiful
We visited it in april. It was beautiful. It is by the lake Como, full of different kinds of flowers and trees. The villa was the house of one of Napoleon's assistants but it was closed for renovation. The Japanese part is wonderful. It is easily accessible on foot from Bellagio pier.

Beautiful and set alongside the lake
Beautiful and the most spectacular gardens we saw on our trip and we saw a few villas - so this was my personal favourite. The landscaping was both gorgeous and unusual too. It was spacious and well worth a visit and was set alongside the lake so you had a fantastic view from there too. A must if you are calling in at Bellagio. There is an 1 hour town walking route you can print off the internet and this Villa's gardens is on the route so you can combine the two.

    Amazing gardens alongside the lake
This is absolutely worth the time to visit and see the gardens and the magnificent views along the lake. The trails alongside the lake and through the gardens are fun to explore - another fun and interesting item to see was the museum which discussed the villa and related history. Overall this is worth seeing

    The best stop in Bellagio!!
This is absolute paradise! In the village of Bellagio, nestled at the tip of an unnamed peninsula in the middle of Lake Como, the jewel of the entire town is the Melzi Gardens along its western shore. Named after Francesco Melzi d'Eril who built the mansion on the grounds in the early 1800s, the gardens feature countless species of plant life. Some of the trees are towering above you reminding visitors just how old they are and their rich history! The entrance pathway runs right along the lake in the most picturesque setting. This is certainly the best point of interest in Bellagio!

    Villa Melzi Gardens, Bellagio…….
A must do on our day trip to Bellagio from Como. Short walk from the centre although we took a ride in the tourist train and got off when it reached the gardens. €8 each to visit. The Villa itself is not open to the public but the stunning gardens easily make up for this. We entered from the far end of the gardens and made our way through to the other end. We were there for about an hour and have some amazing photos. Highly recommended. Well worth going out of your way for!

Pleasant down time in a botanical garden
There is a small choo-choo train near the Ferry docks that takes you on a tour of Bellagio. It was 5 Euros per person. You can get on and off when you want. We stopped at the Melzi Botanical Garden and really enjoyed our peaceful walk through the gardens. The entry fee is 8 Euros per person. what more can I say? If you like some peace and quiet before continuing on your trip, this is worth it.

    Lovely waterside stroll
Beautiful grounds that frame the lake perfectly. Walking the edge on a flat level was a bonus on a hot day. Was hoping for somewhere to swim, but alas that wasn’t possible. Some great spots for photos. Plenty of lizards to see on the walls. Recommend.

Step back in time and stroll the stunning gardens of the (still private) Villa Melzi in Bellagio, Lake Como. A short, pleasant stroll along the water from the harbor, the gardens, even in fall when we were there, are well worth a visit. Not only can you enjoy the meticulously maintained grounds, there is a detailed museum that outlines the heritage of the villa and the contributions of the family over the centuries. Highly recommend. Tip: Go early or later in the day to avoid crowds. Enjoy!

This is an absolutely wonderful garden. All sorts of interesting trees and plants. Entry fee is a very reasonable eight euros. Walk on the water down to the villa and on the return take the high path. Beautiful views all the way.

Stunning! The best gardens in Lake Como, not as busy as most others and plenty of open spots for pictures with the gorgeous plants and the lakes in the background. Well worth a visit

On our day trip from Milan to Lake Como our boat tour dropped us off in Bellagio, so we took a walk to the gardens of this Neoclassical Villa.

The admission price of 8 euros per adult wasn't too bad as we spent around an hour walking around, upon entry you get a little guide which points out all the highlights of the gardens, my particular highlights were the photo opportunities around the Pavilion looking out over the lake and the small water garden with bridges near the entrance.

Despite the drizzle it was still a peaceful and enjoyable walk around the gardens and highly recommended.

We were a little put off by the entrance fee and almost didn't go but I'm so glad we did! The walk along the lake is wonderful, the whole place is beautifully laid out, there's an incredible diversity of trees (and a pretty good map that helps you identify them), and it feels far removed from the bustle and crowds of Bellagio.

Nice experience. Nothing gorgeous enough to wow me, but worth a trip if you appreciate beautiful trees. There are more magnificent gardens elsewhere.
