I visited the cathedral in June. There was no entry ticket however people were suggested to donate 1euro for the preservation of the church(I find this more than logical). The cathedral is not so heavily decorated and the ceiling/roof is the highlight. Definitely a place...More

Detail. Art masters that cared. A story in each figure and window. There is no way that this could be duplicated today. Dark but still overwhelming in beauty.

Centuries in construction, Como's main cathedral is a hodgepodge of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Rococo styles -- not all of it felicitous. Recent restoration work has given the exterior a startlingly clean look that makes it easer than ever to appreciate the myriad sculptures of...More

This cathedral was simply stunning, dare I say it had a much more spiritual ambience than San Marco in Venice and none of the queues (on a weekday). Weekends I did see bigger crowds but nothing to deter a visitor. Well worth a visit.

Worth a visit to admire the scale and the sumptuous interior. The exterior is also worth closer inspection due to magnificent carvings and frescoes.

Expensive to take lift up to terrace so decided not to wait in line and enjoyed from the outside. Worth finding out when lines are shorter to not waste time in line.

The tourist entrance is used when the Duomo is in Service so non-participating guests will not interrupt the religious program.
