My husband and I recently enjoyed our anniversary dinner at this beautiful little restaurant. We found this little gem in Rick Steves' Italy guidebook. Not only was the food delicious, but husband and wife team, Moreno and Rosella, made us feel like "one of the family". We chatted with Moreno after dinner and learned so much about his restaurant and... More

Brilliant day with Moreno, just myself and my Wife, great host, very much recommend it.We were collected in Varenna had coffee on arrival, Moreno caters for all tastes, so he asked what we like, we tasted a few samples of different foods.. pate/ meats, plenty of wine, we made pasta and then ate the delicious lunch that Moreno prepared and... Yes, the reviews are all true. Unbelievably, even though you are inside in one of the most beautiful places, this really is a great way to spend a good part of the day. Chef Moreno is a master entertainer. He knows his cooking and his audience. He is the star of the show. It is more of a cooking demonstration... More

A group of 6 of us decided to do this for one of our days in Varenna. We were conveniently picked up in town around 10, and did not get back until late afternoon. For some in the group, they participated in helping make the pasta, but some of us, it was an eating experience. Snack and coffee upon arrival,... More

Great day in Varenna. Picked up and driven to the restaurant, which was great since the rain had set in. Started with a coffee and biscotti and then into the demonstration of Italian cooking. Was an all day event. Great lunch and meal at the end. The wine flowed freely. Awesome.

What a wonderful day we had visiting Varenna and watching Chef Moreno cook and share his family restaurant with twelve students (we were a party of 6) - so we got to meet three other great couples. Nice pace and explanation of what the experience would be. The company website can be translated to English. Chef was very responsive when... More

My wife and I were fortunate to attend Chef Moreno's cooking class recently while visiting Varenna. We spent an incredible day with Chef Moreno preparing a traditional Italian meal in his village restaurant. The chef taught us both practical and technical aspects of cooking that we'll use regularly. Also, he is a very entertaining gentleman with a great sense of... More

Moreno's cooking class was the highlight of our visit to Varenna, He picked us up in Varenna and drove us up to his restaurant. We were greeted at the restaurant with our coffee drinks and snacks. The cooking course was very informative with some hands on (how to form torteloni) and lots of great demonstration. I took a lot of... More

My expectations were substantially exceeded by the owner/chef/instructor as he put our group of 12 thru a culinary exploration of the Italian approach to cooking. He was meticulous in explaining and demonstrating his approach to preparing each of the ingredients. This lasted for over 4 hours of gastronomical delight with smells and tastes that were spectacular. What a wonderful way... More

To start Moreno and his daughter are extremely accommodating. They drive you to and from the restaurant. Moreno is super funny (lots of jokes), nice and provides a lot of great tips and information about Italian cooking. You don't cook much yourself, but Moreno demonstrates and explains each step and makes the class enjoyable, so you will not be bored.... More
