La Rinascente is right in the heart of Milan and while not overly large must be one of the nicest department stores in the world. It is crammed with designer concessions (no own brands) and oozes a sense of class and sophistication. The jewel in the crown is the selection of restaurants and bars on the 7th floor rooftop terrace,... More

There are too many shops offers pretty much the same brands and merchandise so La Rinascente will not make it to my recommendation list but you should come and try their food court on level 7 if you are shopping in the area. There are varieties of restaurant, chocolate store and small grocery area. Our favourite is My Sushi bar.

Although this department store is very high end. We managed to find some more affordable items in housewares to buy. Visited in May 2012. It's 7 floors. At the time it was decorated with Disney themes throughout the store. Alice was in housewares while a mannequin of Cinderella was in ladies fashions. Very spacious floors and displays were more spread... More

Just before the cathedral is this wonderful department store with just about every designer imaginable. Couldn't see it all in one day! Also, there is a floor devoted to dining; everything thing from a bite, to a full dining experience.

This is actually a large high end shopping mall but the the restaurants on the top floor are really incredible. We stopped here for the great food, there are multiple restaurants and diverse menus. Also there is a great walk out terrace to get great views of downtown and you can eat on the terrace weather permitting. We chose to... More

Beautiful view of the duomo from the rooftop bars/restaurants. Also great food court (did not eat there, but it looked nice with lots of options). This is a department store.. so it will seem strange, but just head to the top floor and enjoy

This is the biggest fashion store in Milan and it sells everything and every good brand will have an outlet here . You will find everything you need in this store alone .

Seriously, best risotto ever! Just go! That's all you need to know! Very posh and great view of the cathedral. Great location as we were shopping around and happened to come across the restaurant on the top floor. Great find by accident.

As it was raining it was the ideal opportunity to spend a couple of hours in here. All was well laid out and staff were very helpful in directing me to where I wanted to go. We went up to the top floor to have coffee and had to queue for quite a while. The food collections were lovely to... More

Neighbourhood Profile

The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
