About
As one of the oldest and biggest Chinese districts in Italy, Milan’s Chinatown stretches Via Paolo Sarpi and the surrounding area. Oriental Mall sits in the center, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. Modest in scope to Chinatowns in other major cities, you can still expect to find plenty of Chinese delicacy staples like handmade dumplings and noodles. Grab yourself a cup of bubble tea or soy milk and take a relaxing stroll through this clean and quiet neighborhood. Visit during Lunar New Year for a lively parade featuring a red paper dragon and the Lantern Festival when red lanterns line the streets. – Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked all over the city without much conviction because of the negative reviews. Now, the neighborhood was really nice the shops smiling and inviting and I even had the opportunity to test the food of a street food, something I had never done before.
I really recommend going there!

First time found that Chinese are racist towards Indians. I had a bad experience visiting Chinatown in Milan. When I asked chinese woman in grocery shop she completely ignored me and served Italian woman. She was soo epathetic I had to get out of store. Never go in their area again

Found Italuan unfriendly too. Chinese and Italian both are racist .

Chinatown in Milan is limited by one street: Via Paolo Sarpi. Apart from a few Chinese restaurants, a few takeaways and a few small Chinese shops, there is nothing special and nothing worth seeing. So you can save yourself the time and effort of driving there. For those who really want to go, the closest subway station is Monumentale. There is no comparison with larger Chinatowns in Europe or the USA.

Chinatown revolves primarily along Via Paolo Sarpi in the Milan District. It has your typical stores that you would find in Chinatown. It is anchored by the Oriental Mall in the center of it all. There are various restaurants, trading merchants and supermarkets along the way. There are Western stores in the area as well such as McDonalds, Carrefour Express, Swarovski and L'Erbolario.

Try out one of the restaurants. If you are looking for goodies, try one of the trading merchants along the main road or 2nd floor of the Oriental Mall, Iper Hu. I like the Da Zhong Tofu place and their soy milk.

True the Chinatown is not as great as London, NYC or SanFran. But the Chinese people in that area appreciate having somewhere to find Chinese groceries and eateries. This is not a Must-See area as a tourist, but if you need your Chinese food/goodies fix, do visit this area.

I have been there for 3 times, it is a nice place generally , lots of chinese super markets with exotic food , shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants. Prices are much lower then in other parts of Milan however even there u will see some typical italians bar. Actually thats a place for people who are interested in China, i understand it is not common with real china but i love the mix of cultures i feel there so i reccomend you to make a trip there.

as stated before on other reviews, if you are looking for a chinatown like London or NYC please change your expectations. If you are looking for a clean street with lots of chines shops, restaurants and people please have a look.
Personally I enjoyed it and had a nice stroll up and down Via Paolo Sarpi to look at all the people, the shops and have a drink along the way. A nice way to start the day and then move on. From there you can easily walk along and see other sights.

Upon recent visit to Milan wife and I whom live in London and love china town thought should take a visit however after reading all the negative reviews was not expecting much!
We however were surprised and was a welcome change to the fashion districts of Milan - lots of little clothes shops and random gifts but importantly a great place to just take a stroll and have some authentic Chinese food! It is not a pretty area but well worth a visit!!

I feel like the term China Town is being missused in this case. Even though there's some Asian stores and a bit of Mandarin writing it's not really sufficient to call it China Town.

It must be understood that not all Chinatown in this world are the same and neither is the Chinatown here. But hey, Chinatowns are exciting and unique places to visit, such as the one in London, right? WRONG. The so called Chinatown in Milano are just a few streets of cheap Chinese shops and Chinese restaurants with Chinese characters labels. Other than that, there is absolutely nothing else.

It wasn't what i expected. There were just long streets full of chinese shops were you can buy anything you have seen on internet shops. Every third clothing store is almost the same. Same with accessories' shops.
For me, it was really boring.
