Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Asti's second largest church is dedicated to Saint Secondo, supposedly decapitated by the Emperor Hadrian on this very spot. Very atmospheric with some fine frescoes. At the moment there's also a little display of all the flags from the recent Palio. Unfortunately the crypt was shut of when we visited, but that might also be worth a visit.

This was an interesting church in the main Square. Don't miss the mosaics on the floor near the altar.

Was walking around taking some pictures when I noticed the church. Thought I would take some pictures inside as well and upon entering mass was being held. So I stood for mass, and prayed. God probably brought me there that moment because I needed it. Inside it’s beautifully decorated with the cross high in the middle. A very pleasant church & I’m glad I went in. Make sure to pay a visit when you’re here, day or night. And maybe say a prayer. God Bless!

Built in the 13th century in the Gothic style it had a nice interior with some medieval frescoes still remaining and a nice chapel showcasing the flags of all the participants to the Palio of Asti.

Nice church dedicated to the Saint of the City.
It is worth visiting the hidden basement (Cripta) where the remains of the Saint are preserved.

There is great beauty in the old brick of this romanesque church. There are very interesting paintings, but do not miss the fresco of Jerusalem at the base of the bell tower with the wonderful statue of the weeping Mary. The crypt where San Secundo was martyred is definitely to be seen. There are remains of early wall paintings on the south side. This church was the highlight of out visit.

Huge cathedral. It was very interesting to walk around and view all the nooks and crannies of this church. We would like to return again and stay longer.

This Romanesque-Gothic church has an austere facade, and its many additions are obvious. The Crypt where San Secondo was martyred and buried is not to be missed. The crypt dates back to the 6th century with its columns and capitals dating from this time and others added. The silver reliquary containing the remains of the saint is quite remarkable. Walking around the nave of this church there is much to be seen, and a guide written in English was a great help.

In the most scenic square of the historic center of Asti stands this beautiful church of Gothic origin but subject to subsequent renovations. In addition to the remains of the eponymous saint, you can admire some beautiful ancient paintings and an interesting wooden choir.

Built on the place where, according to legend, the martyrdom of the patron saint of Asti took place.
Inside the church, in the Crypt, his bones are kept.
It is one of the oldest churches in Asti, we have news of it already around the year 880, when the bishop of the time, following the numerous barbarian incursions,
he had the relics of the saint moved inside the church.
As always happens, the church containing relics is more important than others, so here, more pilgrims arrived, more activities and trade grew, compared to other places.
Thus it became the most important square in the city, even hosting the ducal seat of the Lombard government.
This beautiful Gothic church, which overlooks the square of the same name, has witnessed the opening of the famous Palio of Asti since 1275, which takes place in September...
Jugglers, flag-wavers representing the various villages and districts of the city, come together in a display of skill and skill that leaves both adults and children speechless.
It is and remains a symbol in Asti
