- Michael CLondon, United Kingdom398 contributionsLovely cityTurin was surprisingly lovely with wide streets connecting a number of spacious squares. A good range of shops, restaurants and bars with plenty of interest to see and do. The Royal Palace was exquisite baroque. Take your time to wander.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 November 2023

- PercyGriffSyracuse, New York180 contributionsHistoric Torino is a hidden gemTorino was an amazing city, very walkable and beautiful. Not many tourists are in Torino, and everyone was surprised and welcoming that an American woman was wandering around Torino in November! I could get by without knowing Italian, but I did come across a few people that referred me to another English speaking person. Google translate was also helpful! The architecture in this historic city center was lovely, as the town squares piazza’s) and narrow streets! Such a wonderful visit to a beautiful part of historic Italy!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 December 2023

A day planned on Turin in August
Arriving close to the crowded Plaza republica due to the Point of Sale (not always very tasteful, junk), prefer the Covered Point of Sale next door where meals and ice cream are very good!
Positive aspects about the city: very nice buildings, statues, squares, small restaurant I recommend the Signorvino taking a seat in the inner courtyard.
Unpleasant aspects: dirty sidewalks little maintained green spaces, walls tagged almost on all sectors, little invested river c is a shame, deserted streets around 13:00, closed terraces, no entertainment on these huge squares, perhaps should have come in the evening, outdoor Point of Sale crap.

We came to Turin for Christmas, I must say that the city has a truly Renaissance air, the museums visited are very instructive and interesting, it's a shame about the elevator in the cinema museum, the tickets for which were already sold out within 20 hours. min in a row. The squares were truly beautiful but sad during the Christmas period as every single shop was closed; accustomed to the center of Rome as we are always open even during the holidays we were really disappointed as we were unable to purchase anything, not even a calamity. We found only 3 ice cream shops open, but with 10 degrees I must say it wasn't exactly the best. Truly a disappointment for the Christmas markets, as the only stalls found in Piazza Solferino sold only typical Turin products... plus out of 10 stalls only 4 were open. The ice rink was nice, the only Christmas attraction if one can say so, working. For the rest I must say that the typical Turin cuisine captured me as I had never tried certain dishes such as the fassona tongue which I must say is truly excellent. If you want to spend little and eat well I recommend the Osteria del Frate, excellent for quality/price.

The historic center is beautiful, especially with the artistic lights and Christmas decorations, with its fascinating royal palaces, the stupendous porticoes, the enormous squares, the historic cafés. Remember Paris and Vienna.
It is very clean and well-kept, probably also due to the civic sense that the residents still have, which is unfortunately increasingly rare in other Italian cities. I don't remember having recently seen such well-kept, tidy and non-vandalised gardens in Italy with clean bins.
We even walked at 11.30pm in complete tranquility.
The people are friendly and polite.
Efficient and well-organized transport network including buses, trams and metro.
Local shops and shops still exist, these too are in danger of extinction in other cities. You will find trattorias and bistros at every corner with typical and excellent Piedmontese cuisine.
There are more museums and exhibitions to visit than one can imagine, in addition to the classic Egyptian Museum and Mole Antonelliana.
In the spring/summer period, the beautiful parks such as the Royal Gardens, Parco del Valentino, Palazzo della Regina (where the TV series Elisa di Rivombrosa was filmed) will be even more enjoyable.
A beautiful imperial city but on a human scale.

Beautiful Risorgimento city, its palaces, squares, museums, shops.... all very nice and to see!🔝
The food is very good in the many traditional trattorias and the people are very nice💞
The only drawback is that the city in the evening "closes" 😥
It’s hard to find even a bar open in the center 🙄 all the shops are closed and the center dies until the next morning, too bad

Very beautiful city, lots of nice things to see, we enjoyed the city tour.
But note to foreigners, be careful of your car being broken into. Rue Lungo Po Antonelli to be avoided, vehicle broken and robbed of many belongings (other French people had the same experience at the same time in Turin)

Beautiful center full of palaces and historical monuments, from various eras. Convenient to get around on foot, because the attractions are a maximum of 10/15 minutes walk away. Also great for shooting in the evening, since very quiet. Beautiful fountains in Piazza Castello, between the Royal Museums and Palazzo Madama. To eat well and spend little Recommendation piola da cianci, or the focacciaria Sant'Agostino.

Lots of churches and museums. Very beautiful places to relax. Don't miss the Royal Palace, a visit to which is breathtaking! Followed by the church of St Jean Baptiste for the Holy Shroud. A must-visit on San Carlo Square at the Gelateria Biraghi for a good milk ice cream for €2. Egizio for Egyptian antiquities.

Incredibly welcoming city. Full of life. Neat and clean on a human scale. Streets closed to traffic, where walking is a pleasure of life. Historic cafés that just looking at them make you feel like you're in paradise. Then delicious gastronomic delights. Turin you won my heart. I have visited many cities and large metropolises, Milan loses at least 10 points compared to Turin.
Thank you Turin for welcoming me
