This was the first attraction I chanced upon in Turin - and it is breath-taking. Whoever designed the tower must have been on something as it is a glorious folly! The building houses the Museum of Cinema and for €9 you can take the lift to the top, but I just admired it from outside.

It's one of the most famous landmarks in Turin and the views from the top are great. Probably more spectacular is the way that you get up to the top - the lift is glass and suspended only by its cables rather than any metal framework whilst it ascends through the film museum. It's probably more spectacular watching it from the ground than being in it (it feels like a normal lift in case you are afraid of that sort of thing). Spaces are limited so it's worth booking in advance. As you access it through the cinema museum you are best getting a combination ticket at the same time, especially if it's raining. You do the lift first and cinema museum second.

We had a fantastic experience here. The museum is huge with so much information and exhibits to see. Lots of interactive displays. Amazing decoration throughout. We were there during the Tim Burton exhibition which was stunning. Over 500 pieces apparently, beautifully displayed in a variety of ways. We were there for a good two hours. The lift in the centre of the museum which goes up to a viewing platform on the roof was great to watch and also experience. However the view from the roof terrace was disappointing as it was wet and windy when we were there. But apparently you can see the mountains on a clear day. Make sure you book in advance as it does get very busy but you'll be in there so long that the crowds will disperse around you. Really good experience.

A highlight of our trip. We found it very easy to book online, you just need to be organised! Pleasant lady at the head of the queue was very strict on timing so no point arriving even 5 minutes early. A glass lift whisked us to the top of the building. The lift journey itself was part of the experience, as it was suspended in the middle of the whole building, rather than being in the usual shaft. At the top there’s not that much space, hence the need to limit numbers. You can walk all the way round so spectacular views of Torino from every aspect. We were lucky that it was a beautiful sunny day so could see for miles (kilometers?). Will live long in the memory.

What an incredible experience. Not only does this an architectural monument built in 1889, but it is probably the best brick structure for magnificent views of Turin. In 1961, the added panoramic lift, which takes you 85 meters high into the small temple. The place is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday 9.am. - 7 pm. It's closed every Tuesday. Friday and Saturdays, it's open 9.am - 8.pm The costs of the lift experience are €9.00 per person, and if you want to go to the Cinema Musuem experience, that is €15.00 per person. Concessions are available, ask inside.
