Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We, my wife and I, have just returned from a six day visit to this beautiful and compact city. For us coming from Malta this is an excellent place as it is surrounded by mountains, something we cannot enjoy in our little beautiful island. Trento has its landmarks among which the Duomo, the Castello del Buon Consiglio, its Squares and streets, and others. The life system of the Trentine people then is an excellent one. Sitting leisurely at the many coffee shops which by the way they don't serve coffee only, and having a drink or a plate of goodies, they chat and laugh for quite a long time. One stop there by you and you will immediately get into the system which is a very relaxing way.
Besides this from here you can visit many places which are only less then or a little more than an hour away. While there we visited Bolzano, Riva del Garda, Levico Terma and Verona. All by the way great beautiful places which I am sure you will never forget.
How to get there. It is very easy. If you land in Milano get the Train (Freccia D'Argento) to Verona (only 1hr 15 mins). Change train to Trento and you will be arriving in about one hour.
I am sure you will not regretit.

We were staying in Vela, close to this monument, and so walked up. We walked up the pedestrian path on the northern side of the mount, and back down the stairs to the main entrance on the south. It was a lovely hike, interesting monuments and history on top, a great place for a picnic. There was even a free bathroom at the back of the canteen!

I went walking from the train station and is not too hard. The view from the top of the mountain is really nice and there are a few things to see.

Trento for us represents the pinnacle in the pantheon of medieval hamlets in the mountains Sheltered by the Doso, a massive rocky spur that projects from the slopes of Mount Bordone, its name originally was ''verruca", meaning 'wart', it certainly has no warts on now.
The city is one of modest houses and narrow streets, with monumental palaces like the Great Palace, a princely residence decorated with frescoes and surrounded by gardens, not far from the great Basilica of Santa Mana Massiere.
Compared to 500 years ago the city is much richer today, the mountains of rock that surrounded it, and that were an impediment to communication, are today the most precious asset of the Trentino, whose economy is heavily based on tourism. Its what's in them, their chemical composition that's of importance but for me its the natural architecture of cathedrals and spires that are painted red by the sunset and have no equal anywhere in the world.
We always jump at the chance to stay in an ancient bishop's residence and such an opportunity arose by leaving the city and being plunged into the past with a room at Villa Madruzzo. Surrounded by trees where you can taste the typical dishes and wines of the area.
If you are into feudal castles, there are many of them scattered along our approach to Trento, with the Xmas market at Piazze Duomo a prfect draw-card to share Xmas cheer at.
