I rented an Ebike from "4810" in Courmayeur and on their recommendation headed up the Val Ferret on a hot day in late May. Superb trip up a beautiful quiet side valley that runs under the Grand Jorasse. Absolutely wonderful views in both directions and endless places to stop and explore. Allow yourself about 2-3 hours for the round trip... More

We came here on a beautiful Thursday afternoon but lost an hour looking for and waiting for a parking spot so in the end we just had lunch and skipped the ski de fond. Too bad - we were told it's really beautiful. It would probably be better to take a bus to come here to avoid having to park.

The view is unbeatable, there are a couple of very good restaurants, it's the paradise for the cross country skiers, with a ski rental on site. Full of families with small kids as well, since a walk in the valley is a full day activity for all ages, somebody makes it longer, some others with kids make it shorter. Nice... More

It is part of the Tour Mont Blan. One can start climbing from the Courmayer centre, but be prepared for somewhat difficult hike. Beware of snow and slippery track.

We spent 1 day of hiking across Val Ferret 22 km) on our Tour du Mont Blanc. Green open valley, farm, cows and typical swiss village!

The valley is gorgeous. There are many trails of different lengths & difficulty. The river runs along the valley. There are glaciers above in the crooks of the amazing mountains. Pick a trail to a local refugio for lunch, fish in the river, camp...possibilities are endless

This was an unforgettable part of the Tour du Mont Blanc, with lush greenery and steep ridges to climb. The cowbell choirs added to the fascination. We felt very small in contrast to the vast rocky peaks.

This valley gently climbs along the Italian side of the Mt. Blanc range and only ends when it crosses the Col into Switzerland. A favorite with hikers doing the Tour of Mt. Blanc, it is also great for corss-country skiing and high mountain randonnees in the winter (the Refugio Bonnatti is lovely with excellent food).

We came here by bus from Aosta to Courmayeur (1 hour). We visited Courmayeur, which I recommend. Then took a bus to Val Ferret and got off at Lavachey stop. There is a restaurant but nothing else. The area is untouched. Splendid views and smells of the mountains and their flora, just beneath the Mont Blanc massif which we visited... More
