Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I returned to Padua after an organized excursion to the Venetian Dolomites, having to wait for my train for over two hours. A colleague from Padua suggested that I spend this time at the nearby Giardini dell'Arena, telling me how, in recent years, they have gone from being a pleasant place from an environmental point of view, but poorly frequented and therefore repulsive, to a safe and attractive place from all points of view.
I followed her advice and I haven't regretted it. The gardens are animated by pubs and other removable shops, and the green spaces are occupied by visitors who, lying on a lawn or sitting on a bench, read a book, chat, rest.
I paused in particular in the northern part of the park, the one overlooking the Piovego canal, where I found a free bench in the shade (it was still a rather hot September day), suitable for reading.
The time waiting for the train so flew by.
If I have the opportunity, I will be certainly pleased to return to this park.

Next to the Scrovegni Chapel you can see the remains of what was the Roman amphitheater of Padua. In fact, the Chapel was the private oratory connected to the palace that the Scrovegni family had built on the remains of the amphitheater and which was demolished in the nineteenth century. A beautiful park has been created around the remains.

The most interesting part of this park was the historic wall. The rest was fairly standard sort of a park in a big city. There are some museums here but the wall is most interesting.it is not far from the train station and a fairly rough area

Just some typical old walls that still stand in the centre of Padova...the place & gardens are used for events like music sessions, plays & outside cinemas.

The Giardini dell'Arena is a lovely and well-manicured park located in the center of Padua, next to the Capella degli Scrovegni, the major artistic and cultural attraction in town. Walking paths, flowers, trees, bushes, artistically placed and pruned, provide for a lovely walk or a moment of quiet reflection. At one end is the Scrovegni Chapel, wit the greatest repository of Giotto frescoes in the world; on the other, the remains of the original city walls, including the ruins of a Roman amphitheater. Weather permitting, this is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

The Roman ruins are just across a couple streets from Padua's Train station. It is mostly Roman ruins .Unless you have nothing else to do I wouldn't spend more than a 15 minute quick look at this well maintained park.

The gardens deserve a visit because of this amphitheater and the nearby Cappella degli Scrovegni
dont' expect something comparable to the impressive Verona amphitheater or the Rome coliseum

It is a beautiful park near the famous Scrovegni Chapel. It is in a good condition well-groomed. It has a lot of beautiful flowers. It is a good place to go for a walk or sit on a bench to relax. There is also a playground for children inside. Unfortunately, I didn't pa much attention to the old roman buildings, as I was focused too much on the park.

By the time I got there, after a walk that had been disappointing so far, I didn't feel like spending much more time in that part of the city. Therefore, I just took a quick walk, mostly keeping to the river side of the garden. I like how it's cared for, both in the sense that it looks like it's constantly maintained, and that there were civil servants constantly there. The little lake is nice, and it's nice that they divided the main path between lanes for pedestrians, bicycles going in each direction. All in all, it feels like it's meant more for locals than tourists, but you might want to drop by for a quick visit.
