A site very well worth seeing

Padua is a very historic city. There are many places of historic significance to visit. Of all the places in Padua, my favourite was Prato della Valle.

Beautiful square with a collection of statues of Paduan related historical people, bridges over the running stream and plenty of bars and restaurants around its perimeter to sit down and enjoy the beauty while sipping your favourite beverage! St. Mark's of Padua.

We didn't realize how close this was to the basilica. We actually came back toward the end of the day to just stroll, take pictures and watch life unfold around us. This is a must see in Padua. Take your time, relax, grab food at Pollodoro la Gastronomica and enjoy a little picnic.

This is the largest piazza in Europe with fountains and lots of statuary and plenty of space to walk. There is a daily vegetable market on the northeast corner and a more general market on Saturdays. If you are tiring from your walk, Caffe Diemme near the same corner is an excellent coffee stop. There is not a lot of... More

One really shouldn't visit Padua without taking a stroll around this expansive park with its canals, statues, lawns and trees. As it cools off in summer and the shadows lengthen the plaza comes alive as it seems to be a favoured spot for locals as well as tourists, like me.

If you are in Padova, this is the first obvious place to visit and well worth it. The space is huge and just beautiful.

The Prato is always beautiful whatever time or season.. in summer many couples come just to sit and relax on the grass under the trees, and on every Saturday there is a huge market all the way around the Prato circle

One of the largest squares in Europe Just sit for a while, look all around, breathe, enjoy. Easy to reach by car, there is a wide park directly on one side.
