Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arriving in Padua we skirted part of its walls. The work had various construction phases but the final structure dates back to the sixteenth century when the city was part of the Serenissima. Unfortunately, the walls did not seem to me to be valued as they deserved even though I am told that there are projects on the matter.

These ruins of walls encircling the old city tell a story . The old pictures of Padova with the walls complete , the water flowing in the river and canals through the city makes me wish it was still the same. Where many other Italian cities are preserved and have restored their ancient walls to their former glory , Padova's walls remain in their ruined state . Still very evident as an outline to the ancient city and none the less interesting . To see where the modern city has grown around the original settlement and the way the old walls have blended into the landscape is with seeing. Its a long wall, a big impressive wall , if you are interested in medieval walls this is an interesting place to visit.

If you fancy a walk away from the city then follow the city walls wherever you can - there are interesting gates and architecture - it's nice to get away from it and there are often good paths to follow.

We had enough time to walk around the old city walls. It was great for picture taking, understanding the history and observing locals who use the areas like parks. Relaxing and shady in the Summer sun.

This is a well preserved gate to the old city of Padua, parts of which are still standing encircling the city.

Padua is one of the most interesting and scenic cities in Italy. The walls of the city are beautiful. We have lots of photos to share. The city is one of the oldest cities in Italy. The cathedral is very beautiful and a must see. The University is less interesting in my opinion. There are many beautiful buildings and residences in the city.

Seeing any city's historic walls makes me wish they could share what has gone on around them. It is no different here.
We were fortunate enough to have done a home exchange with a couple that has an apartment on the river, close to some of the old walls. Not only do we sleep with the sounds of the river, we get to cross some historic bridges and run our hands along the walls as well.
