I am glad I did this tour, but I do think some improvements could be made to the overall experience. The earpiece / audio mechanism often cut out if the tour guide got too far ahead of us or when we went through enclosed areas (which is impossible to avoid on a tour of this nature). It does not appear that the guide is aware of this and so they keep chatting even when most of us are going through a single file area and can no longer hear what she is saying. The guide should make a point to wait until all group members arrive on the other side of a narrow walkway or up a flight of stairs to whatever our destination is. By continuing to talk while so many group members are in transit, we miss out on whatever was being said because the sound cuts off. That said, the tour was informative and interesting, though I would have appreciated more of an art and architectural emphasis in some of what was shared. The building's history and style and the many paintings inside the palace merit a bit more explanation than what we heard. In sum, the content of the tour and attentiveness to everyone's ability to hear what was said could be improved, but it is still a tour worth doing. The staff at the check-in point were very helpful and friendly, and though it was not necessary for me, their English was very good.

The length of the tour was perfect, and the access to both San Marco and the Doge's Palace was perfect. However, the tour guide was a little dry, and hard to hear. In addition, the thickness of the walls made it difficult for us to effectively hear the presentation when the tour guide got too far in front of us or the crowd separated us. Otherwise, highly recommend!

The meeting point given by tripadvisor is wrong. It is at the post office back of the square, not at the blue clock tower! When we finally found the tour, it was a good tour with a nice guide.

I missed the start of the tour due to a train delay so I did not see the Basilica portion of the tour. However when I called the tour group they said I would be able to catch the second half of the tour, Doge’s Palace. It was a compromise I was grateful for since I thought I had missed the whole tour. The Doge’s Palace tour was wonderful. We saw so much in about an hour and a half. The tour guide was very knowledge. He gave us detailed information on the history of Venice, the Palace and the works of art. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

Knowledgeable guide who pointed out a wealth of interesting details about this absolutely stunning venue. We also did the Basilica. Truly worthwhile.
