nice hidden surprise next to the train station

I arrived at the train station early and ended up stopping inside this church. It has a peaceful interior with a beautiful altar. Worth a quick look if passing by.

We enjoyed visiting this church and walking around it on the waterfront and admiring the views to San Marco and Lido. We visited in the morning,it was a lovely quiet place to light a votive candle.

Stunning building, moved me to tears and I know nothing of art. I'd recommend seeing it from the other side of the canal.

Architecture of this church is really amazing. Simple yet an absolutely work of art. A five-minute visit will do.

This church looks really great from a distance, and generally from the outside. The interior is just so-so, but still worth a look if you're in the area. Great views from here across towards San Marco.

This is such a beautiful building. It is easy to visit without a crowd when we were there. I would highly recommend stopping to visit. I would think this would be a great place to visit in the summer as we were there in the winter and it was colder inside the church than outside, so maybe a place to... More

Although it is not very big, this basilica has an impressive dome surrounded by many small chapels, each having an amazing masterpiece. Entrance is free, but you have to check the opening hours. It can be reached on foot (highly recommended) or using traghetto (2 euro fee). The time spent here helped us to better understand the Venetian art.

Over-used word, but it is iconic of the city and the baroque style. Wonderful sense of peace and quiet, even when a service is in progress.

This Basilica dominates the view from the landing stage San Marco but is better seen from there or from a Vaporetto as the interior is nothing to write home about. Better to walk a little further and visit ithe Guggenheim collection!
