This was a wonderful experience for a couple on their honeymoon! We did the Pasta Extravaganza and made ravioli, two gnocchi dishes, two pasta dishes, and tiramisu. Marika was very friendly and knowledgable and the kitchen was clean and pretty.

The Acquolina experience with chef Marika Contaldo Seguso began in the Rialto market in Venice. Marika showed us how to select fish, various seafoods like scampi and squid, and how to select the freshest vegetables and dried tomatoes. It was a fascinating experience. Everyone at the market and in the restaurants knows Marika, and she clearly loves Venice and Lido and sharing her expertise and passion. We sampled a variety of wines and Venetian foods at the restaurants in the neighborhood. The lovely boat ride to Lido island was a treat, what a way to see Venice! Marika's home and family were welcoming, and we cooked in her kitchen, learning so many things about food and kitchen practices. It was a superb day. I met other people on the tour/cooking class, we have become friends. And Sabrina is a gem of a person, it was great to laugh together.
Acquolina and Marika accommodated having my kids and mom join us at the villa afterward for lunch. That made the day extra special.
What a unique experience. Marika is an impressive chef and person.

We just left the class, feeling fully satisfied and happy. The class was jam packed with information and instruction. We learned and made 3 raviolis, two gnocchi, and pasta with two tomato based sauces. Chef was funny, knowledgeable , and patient

Marika's cooking class was incredible, delicious, and provided us with a lifetime of wonderful memories. I highly recommend taking her class. She was a terrific instructor, kept it fun, provided a lot of interesting history and information on what we were preparing, had a lovely staff, and her class was in her beautiful home. We couldn't ask for a better experience. If in Venice, a cooking class at Acquolina is a must!

My family (incl 12 and 16 year boys) had a wonderful day with Marika! We spent the morning at the morning at the market, learning about the local products - where they were grown, what made them special, how to look for the freshest seafood. The cooking was a journey into how to make those ingredients shine. Along the way, Marika peppered in stories and tidbits, showing us why cooking is such an amazing lens into culture and history! We all had a great time and looking for to our next visit!

We had an amazing and unique cooking experience at Acquolina in the beautiful villa Ines. My friend and I shared this special day with our 17 year old granddaughters. Marika, a professional chef who worked in NY, has excellent and patient teaching skills for all ages and abilities. She taught us all the necessary techniques for rolling pasta, plus preparing gnocchi, pizza & gelato in her absolutely gorgeous kitchen.
After cooking we had the the opportunity to enjoy all the delicious food we prepared.
We brought home a copy of the recipes and our granddaughters are very excited to prepare a dinner for us with the recipes they collected. This was a wonderful bonding experience that I would recommend for everyone.
Grazie Mille Marika

A wonderful day on the LIDO with Marika and her crew. I recently spent 8 days in Venice as a first trip since Covid-19. My last morning was spent with Marika and her wonderful assistants at the school making risotto, panna cotta and the most delightful Frito misto. What a lovely day. Marika is beautiful inside and out. Her techniques are faultless, and her kitchen is gorgeous! What a wonderful time. She has her kitchen at the Villa Ines, a family treasure. I am looking forward to returning to Venice to stay there next year, Lord willing. I can recommend a trip there highly; won't you take me with you? Her catering is world famous, and the art glass in the home is absolutely breathtaking. Could be since her husband's family has been in the business at Seguro furnace since 1397, yes! 1397! Enjoy every moment. Just a spectacular experience.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Acquolina. From start to finish, this was a truly five-star experience. Marika and her team were wonderful communicative and helpful, working closely with me to find just the right class for a dear friend of mine and myself to take in May. Once there, we enjoyed a spectacular experience that left us not only feeling better prepared to tackled a multi-course meal with delicious as well as aesthetically pleasing results but also as though we had made a new friend in Marika. As a professor, I know how challenging teaching can be, whether with novices or experts. Marika is an absolute natural! Professional and precise, she brings not only general knowledge about ingredients and techniques but also subtle (but incredibly useful) tips on how to elevate your cooking game to the next level! Spending time in her gorgeous and immaculate kitchen situated within an elegant and historic liberty (art nouveau) style villa is a treat in and of itself! That said, watching and learning from her in real time was one of the most amazing experiences that I have had (and I say this having grown up with a mother who is a wonderful cook and former caterer). Run, don't walk, to Acquolina at Villa Ines! Finally, for those staying on Venice proper, the school is super convenient -- 7 minute walk from the Lido vaporetto stop!

My wife and I absolutely loved this cooking class experience! We learned a lot from cooking with Marika in her kitchen and then enjoying our food in her beautiful garden was also amazing! I can truthfully say that the gnocchis & risotto we made with Marika were the best we’ve ever had. We were in food heaven! A great experience when visiting Venice!

I booked this event. I never received a confirmation. I emailed several times with no response. I’m so disappointed as I planned all of the tours for my trip ahead of time. I hope that in the future you improve communication with guests!

My wife and I will be staying in Castello, Venezia, Veneto from 4/16th-4/19th. We want to take this cooking class on either Wednesday or Thursday, 4/17th or 4/18th, but are wondering what is the best way to go from where we are staying to Lido, how long it takes, and trying to make sure it fits into our short schedule while we are in Venice. The cooking class sounds great and yummy, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Corey and Jen Copeland

In order to reach Lido from Venice, you need to take the vaporetto (water buses) or a water Taxi. The journey from Venice to Lido takes about 10-20 minutes depending on which part of Venice you depart. Then you can walk to the cooking class once you get off the vaporetto.

I will be in Venice from the 20th November to the 9th December. From Monday to Friday I will be attending Italian Language school. I will be available for the classes on a Saturday and Sunday. I am most interested in pasta making classes.

Check the availability on their website. I booked through there and everything was smooth! It was by far one of the best things lve done. I now cook pasta at home weekly and its so simple you will wonder why you ever bought that packet stuff :-)

I am planning a trip to Venice with my 72 year old mother who is unable to stand or walk very long (maybe 10 minutes without resting).
She loves to cook and eat. Can you accommodate older guests with chair or seating option?

There is a lift that we took up to one of the floors. We then had to walk up another flight of stairs. So lm unsure if the lift goes entirely to the too floor. The class itself was fantastic and lm now cooking pasta at home!! Definitely check with marika herself as to the lift situation. Your mother may find it hard walking up the last flight of stairs
