The strikingly beautiful exterior of this small marble clad church is matched by its wonderful interior. A must see on any Venice visit.

A friend tells me that Ezra Pound described this miracle as a 'jewel box'. I can't confirm this, but it is indeed a box-shaped church containing many 'jewels'. Stunning! Sadly on the day I ventured in, there were only three visitors (including me) in the...More

The father-and-son team of Pietro and Tullio Lombardo constructed and decorated this jewel-like ensemble of colored marbles and delicate marble sculpture between 1481 and 1489. This small, beautifully-sited, and exquisite church will surely remain in your mind and heart as one of Venice's great (and...More

Whilst not being at the top of the Tourist lists of most folks, this little Church is well worth a visit, just for the art inside. Quite unique and unforgettable. Not the same queues found elsewhere.

Possibly the most beautiful church in Venice. Popular with local residents for RC wedding -watch if you can as they are quite a spectacle as the happy couple depart by flower covered gondala.

A place of peace and beauty. It is like sitting inside a jewllery box. I attended a service and just sat and prayed. I recomend buying a chorus pass which allows one to enter many churches

Loved this little gem - a cool and peaceful oasis at the centre of crazy Venice with it's hoards of tourists. Lovely story behind this too...

The church was closed for years, now opened but there is a charge to enter and really everything can be seen from the entrance. Save your money for ther Frari or San Giovani e Paolo

A bit of a walk from San Marco, but every walk in Venice is delightful. This sweet little church commemorates a supposed miracle—hence the name. By a sandwich in the neighborhood and have lunch on any stone step nearby.

Miracoli is the most beautiful little gem of a church tucked away in Venice. Its beauty is enhanced by any of the myriad musical events that are held here. We've always managed to find a choral concert and it is well worth coming back in...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Probably Rialto or Fondamente Nuove as good as any - it's about halfway between. But the easiest way to find it is from the Church of Ss Giovanni e Paolo; from the square in front of it, a bridge leads across the canal to... More
