About
Hi! We are Rossana and Federica. We’ve been local guides here in Venice for several years now and we really love what we do, especially meeting new people from other parts of the world and showing our Venice from an insider's point of view. Not only important monuments and museums but also little alleyways picturesque squares where you get in touch with everyday life that in this water town may sound a very special way of living. Since we have kids of our own, we particularly enjoy offering guided tours and scavenger hunts to families with kids!

We spent a lovely morning with Rossana visiting various spots in Venice. It wasn’t our first trip to the city but we all learned a lot of new and interesting things about La Serenissima. She organized a fun itinerary for our 4.5 year old son Arik, who was all ears for (almost) the entire 2 hour tour. He loved listening to Rossana’s stories and was asking to go back to some of the places we visited together. I highly recommend this activity for anyone with kids. Thanks to Rossana for arranging a super fun morning!

My four kids and I traveled to Venice for a couple of days this summer. Our time was limited so we wanted to make the most of it by taking a tour and learning all about the city, it’s history and local recommendations. Rossana did a wonderful job! My kids are 17, 15, 11 and 8 and she was able to keep their interest even though it was a wide range of ages. If you are in Venice, I definitely recommend booking the Venice Kids Tour!

We booked the tour with Federica and she was fantastic! Booking through email was easy. My daughters (7 & 11) love the Magic Tree House series. This tour was based on the Carnival at Candlelight book. Federica introduced the history of Venice and brought the Magic Tree House story to life. She pointed out the places and objects from the story as she let us through Doge's Palace. I highly recommend Venice Kids Tours to families!

We came to Venice with our girls (8 and 10) in December and I had booked a kids scavenger hunt and Grand Canal tour with Venice Kids Tours. Unfortunately we could not do the scavenger hunt due to the acqua alta. Federica was very nice and worked with us to change the location and route of the canal tour so that we could still do it. It was great and the tour guides (Federica and Patricia) were lots of fun.

We took both the Doge's Palace Scavenger Hunt and the Tour of Cannaregio and visit to the Marionette Maker with Rossana. We are two American grandparents with a nearly twelve year old granddaughter. Everything was great: the itinerary, pacing, engaging stories, her knowledge of the areas, and all the rest.

Rossana was great with our two girls 6 and 9. We took another walking tour at Verona and they were less interested and tired by the end. Coming into Venice, they were already super distracted by all the hustle and bustle + floods of tourists. As soon as Rossana started her stories, they were focused and got right into the history of Marco Polo! The tour had the right amount of fun and lessons for kids, I was intrigued and learned so much about Venice as well. Highly recommend! - ps my kids had both read the Magic Tree House - Carnival at Candlelight, and it was very fun to point out where the lions and clock tower were from the story

We booked a private tour with Federica around the Doge’s Palace for our kids aged 7 and 9. This consisted a 2 hour tour with a scavenger hunt around the Palace and prisons. Having a guide also allowed us to get direct access to all areas without having to queue.
The tour exceeded my expectations. Federica was lovely and engaging, and clearly a very experienced and knowledgeable guide. We also learnt as much as the kids who really enjoyed the experience. Having a guide really brought the museum to life and meant the kids did not get bored.
This was a fun format to learn and the prize at the end was a great finish. Thanks Frederica :-)

Family 5 adults, two children aged 5 and 7. Federica took us on two tours, The Marco Polo Scavenger Hunt, and the Doge's Palace tour with St. Marco's Basilica added on as an extra. Federica was simply fantastic. Being Venetian herself she has a total passion for city and that comes across. Incredibly knowledgeable about everything, she is enormous fun, her English is excellent and nothing was to much trouble. In short a superb guide. The tours are advertised as children's tours, but in fact they are just as much for adults as for younger people. While keeping my little granddaughters engaged by finding things on their hunt maps, earning stickers and that final promised prize and learning a lot of things too (as did we) we five adults also inundated her with questions about Venice. These were not necessarily within the confines of the tour titles either, but her answers were all promptly answered, often accompanied by a look at relevant photos or diagrams which she showed us. Federica is truly a mine of fascinating information. Not only that, she also directed us to a place near St Marco's piazza serving a wonderful cicchetti lunch after the tour, where in her words "the locals go". As someone who lives in Rome, I know how much this information is invaluable in a tourist town. To be able to find a place serving "the real deal" food, at local as opposed to blown up tourist prices was a real bonus. I thoroughly recommend these tours for children aged from 5 - 70 :)

The tour of the secret passage of the Doge’s Palace was the highlight of our trip to Venice! Rossana was excellent - from initial communication to reminders about the tour she was precise and timely. Her knowledge of the history of the Doges was impressive and her storytelling about the escape of Casanova from the prison kept us all interested and holding on by the seat of our pants- parents and 12 year old twins included! Do not hesitate to book this private tour. The best part was being apart from the crowds during this experience!

We did the 'Scavenger hunt in the Doges Palace: Casanova's Prison Break' tour with Federica. Our 10 year old daughter was engaged throughout and learnt a lot about the history of Venice.
Federica came ready with a scavenger hunt and a great energy. She had stickers which were added to a sheet when our daughter answered a question correctly, but it wasn't just questions or things to spot in the palace, there were also puzzles to solve throughout which gave a nice balance between learning, searching for things and fun little activities.
While our daughter was solving puzzles or figuring out a clue, this gave the adults a little more time to look at the rooms in the palace in more detail.
Federica also had a folder filled with images to help build on the history as she explained different elements, she was a wealth of knowledge and answered all our questions. We are so glad we took this tour and we have all learnt so much.
