Excellent Pop Art exhibition

Walked through briefly after some pop-art exhibition pieces were in a window. Great place tucked away to browse leisurely for free.

So I'll start by saying Murano glass is not really my thing, however the shop owner is very passionate about the glass and you have to love a small shop owner who believes in his product. He is also clear about the amount of Chinese imported glass there is in Venice and that he only stocks proper Murano glass, and... More

We have shopped at this store every time we have visited Venice over the last 22 years. The same owners remain committed to selling authentic Murano glass, not the cheap Chinese imports. We have bought everything from a signed Signoretti sculpture to a pair of earrings made especially for me to match a braclet. We were so glad to find... More

We stopped by this store twice as it was near our B&B. We loved the beautiful glass art works which the owner assured us were true Murano glass and not that "cheap Chinese glass." We checked out other glass stores in Venice during our touring that day and realized this off-the-beaten-tourist-path retail store did in fact offer authentic Murano glass... More

Being a glass making enthusiast, of all forms of the art,it was wonderful just recently, to stumble across this beautiful gallery/shop in via Garibaldi. From jaw dropping large pieces, to delicate, beautiful perfume bottles, the work was amazing. The gallery was thoughtfully and beautifully laid out with lighting that enhanced the glasswork. The owners and resident artists were delightful ,informative and very willing... More

We go to Venice most years, and we always make a point of going to visit AiW. Most years we buy something, other years just look around. Always lovely though. If you're looking for great glass at decent (not cheap, but fair) prices, this is the place to go. pete S

We met this amazing artist of Murano glass, by chance on the streets of Venice when we were lost. Ketty Parma walked us 20 minutes to our hotel; was extremely knowledgeable & friendly and only mentioned her name & gallery in passing. The next day with the help of the internet we sought her out. There are two small family... More

A wonderful, small gallery with competitive prices. The advantage is the guarantee that local artists did the work (and beautiful work, too). Take the time to visit this shop.

After reading previous reviews of Alice in Wondrland it sounded too good to be true- it wasn't. This shop owner was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Murano glass and the artists. More importantly, she was willing to share it with patience and enthusiasm. There is no hard sell at all but I would be shocked if you didn't leave with... More

Lovely glassware something for everyone's budget. Exceptional pieces of art but some can be very pricey.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
