Lovely little Island with far cheaper restaurants than in Venice. Quiet and romantic. :) Got here by accident, but didn't regret it.

I have been to Lido before and it is best to visit in the summer to get away from the crowds and spend some time on the beach.

The Lido is a long sandbar just a few minutes waterbus ride from Venice city center. We went in the winter, in December. Very few people. Your vaporetto ticket works on the island bus, as well. Laid back. Pleasant place. The beaches are busy in summer.

We took the Vaporetto # ` to Lido and it looked so beautiful by night that we went back there again the next day. Its a more modern part of town... and the view of the snow mountains from there is fantastic. Other than that I would stick to a Murano or a Burano trip

This is where we stayed when visiting Venice. We caught a boat across to the main island every day. It's a lovely semi quiet place and perfect if you don't want to stay right in the hustle and bustle.

Visit this island if you want to spend some time at the beach. This island had few cafes, bistros, restaurants, shops too.

Facing less architectural regulation than the main island, this area has a much more modern and airy feel. To find a public beach is easy: once off the “Lido” ferry, walk down the main street for about 15 minutes until you reach the end. Soak up the rays and take a dip in the Venetian Lagoon. If you have time,... More

Yes[ it's quite different than the hustle and bustle and crowding in Venice. It was a pleasure to have our short visit here. The journey is covered by the basic tourist vaporetto pass. We very much enjoyed our all-to-brief visit to this pleasant relaxing island- a change of pace from the frenzied activity of tourist Venice. We visited the old... More
