nice and not crowded

Reached the Lido by Vaparretto on a Sunday when I realized St Marco was overcrowded. Lido is very pleasant, not crowded, meal much cheaper than in the centre of Venice

Visit this island if you want to spend some time at the beach. This island had few cafes, bistros, restaurants, shops too.

Facing less architectural regulation than the main island, this area has a much more modern and airy feel. To find a public beach is easy: once off the “Lido” ferry, walk down the main street for about 15 minutes until you reach the end. Soak up the rays and take a dip in the Venetian Lagoon. If you have time,... More

Yes[ it's quite different than the hustle and bustle and crowding in Venice. It was a pleasure to have our short visit here. The journey is covered by the basic tourist vaporetto pass. We very much enjoyed our all-to-brief visit to this pleasant relaxing island- a change of pace from the frenzied activity of tourist Venice. We visited the old... More

A different Venetian experience, with cars and roads. Don't expect too much from the beach - it's sand but not all that clean (nor is the water at the end of the day) and there are hawkers everywhere constantly trying to sell you things. Nice enough for a hot day experience, but there are better places to swim when you... More

What part of Venice isn't waterfront though? This would not be my first stop in Venice. But it makes for a relaxing stroll.

We stayed here for a couple of days and it was just magical. The cafe lined streets are just a delight to walk around and gardens superb. Our hotel was situated within walking distance of the ocean and not too many tourists around.

Did not stay there too much. Short visit as going around with the vaporeto. The feeling was very nice though. Very clean. You need a car to go around.

I went to lido on a grey summer day. There is a small beach with soft sand . Lido has a nice walking area full of shops and coffee shops. They even have a small place for children to play on cars and merry go rounds.
