Fodor's Travel recently released its "Fodor's Essential Italy 2020", which ranks the Italy's best and fantastic cooking classes. Fodor's Travel named Mama Isa's Cooking School as one of the top 10 cooking classes in Italy. Have fun at our one day or 2-3 day or week-long cooking classes.Our mission is to offer our guests the cooking vacation of a lifetime. We offer 1 day - or 2-3 days or week-long cooking classes. By experiencing cooking classes and cooking courses, you can discover the wonderful flavours of the local produce (farm to table) and learn how to blend these high quality and fresh ingredients together to create delicious Regional Italian dishes. Suitable for both beginners and confident cooks.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

My wife and I went to Mama Isa's beautiful home and cooked the most wonderful pasta. Not only was the meal great, but as soon as we got home to Canada, we cooked it again (with the help of the notes Mama Isa sent over to us) to really solidify our learnings!
We may have only learned with her for a day, but we'll have delicious pasta for the rest of our lives becausue of her :)

We had such a wonderful time at Mama Isa’s cooking school. We made sourdough bread, focaccia, pizza, starters, dough, and bread sticks. She was so knowledgeable about the art and science of bread making. We learned so much. After we finished baking all of our bread creations, we sat down and enjoyed them! It was the best bread I have ever eaten!

We had a great time learning the art of old school pasta making with mama isa. She taught us about the ingredients and process and the end result was a delicious meal! Enjoyed it very much.

A friend & I took a cooking class with Chef Isa while visiting Venice and we had such a great time! We made a delicious sour dough pizza as an appetizer and then learned to make homemade spinach & ricotta ravioli with a sage butter cream sauce. Isa and her husband Stefano were awesome; so friendly and so detailed in the instruction. Great tips & tricks to ensure we can replicate the recipe at home. The food was delicious and the experience was truly memorable.

A well-rounded experience! We made pasta (fettuccini), sauce (arrabbiata), and classic tiramisu. Not only did we learn the importance of ingredients but technique and cooking. Mama Isa is an excellent teacher—-tell, show, and let you practice. Gentle correction as needed and encouragement as well. She also knows food history and provides insightful background information.
She also shared sourdough bread made with her mother’s starter (70 year old starter!) and some marvelous wine (one was a sparkling Chardonnay!). The meal was delicious!
The experience also lets you experience an Italian home, friendly conversation, and exposure to the city of Padova (Padua). We enjoyed walking to the Basilica of St Anthony from her place as well as the Botanic Gardens.
Mama Isa, her husband, and her son were warm and hospitable. The entire experience was perfect for us! We were staying on a cruise ship in Fusina but her directions were detailed and we got to Padua no problem. It was worth the trip plus it made us feel like accomplished Italian travelers using people mover, train, and taxi!
My advice: take Mama Isa’s Cooking class!!!! She is the real deal.

Isa and Stefani are knowledge, welcoming and wonderful people! This was my first trip to Italy and even though I was in an unfamiliar country, Isa and Stefano made my boyfriend and I feel like family. The pizza class experience was magical and we can’t stop talking about it! We are so looking forward to sharing and recreating these recipes with our friends and family when we return home. my husband and i celebrated our one year anniversary by visiting Italy and we knew we absolutely wanted to learn how to make fresh pasta. i am so glad that i found Mama Isa's Cooking School. first off, her website is so informative with lots of excellent reviews and helpful information. she offers so many different options in terms of your cooking class so that you can have the best and most tailored experience. she is very quick to reply to emails and provides lots of details and instructions on how to book the class and also how to get to her apartment from wherever you are staying. we booked our class for a Wednesday and we were lucky enough that it ended up being just us two; so we had a private and very personal experience with Chef Isa. Her and her husband, Stefano, are so sweet & welcoming... by the end of the class, we felt like family! Chef Isa taught us how to make delicious fresh pasta & sauce. and she even had some focaccia dough prepped for us to put some toppings on, bake and enjoy as a little appetizer! while we were cooking, Chef Isa taught us a lot of history about Italy and Italian food, which was so fun to learn. if you are looking for something to do around Venice or want to enjoy an amazing cooking class, i highly recommend Mama Isa's Cooking School! grazie mille Chef Isa! - Eva & Justin

Throughout our interactive class, Isa provided essential cooking and preparation techniques elevating our skill set in making pasta and gelato dishes. Isa’s intuitive instruction, her versatility with traditional pasta recipes as well as gluten free pasta creations, and her gracious hosting skills certainly amplified our cooking class experience. In addition, she emailed the recipes we made in our class as well as an assortment of other recipes to help us expand our repertoire of fresh pasta dishes and gelato varieties. Five stars to our wonderful chef and entrepreneur for inspiring us to the next level in our authentic Italian pasta and gelato culinary creations.

Mama Isa's Cooking Class was one of the best things we did on our Honeymoon. My wife is celiac and seeing the top rated Gluten-Free Pasta Class from Mama Isa was a no-brainer to pick. It did not disappoint! She took all precautions and asked all of the right questions to ensure we were welcomed and were able to create an amazing Italian Pasta Cooking experience! If we have the opportunity again to take another Mama Isa Cooking Class we would do it in a heartbeat!

Mama Isa’s cooking lesson was AMAZING! One of our favorite experiences on our family vacation in Italy. It was also one of our favorite meals that we had on the trip - such fresh pasta!
