About
An elegant 18th-century, Venetian style neoclassical residence, Tenuta Santa Maria lies in the picturesque village of Arbizzano di Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. In this luscious valley, resting 200 meters above sea level, just minutes from Verona and about twenty kilometres from Lake Garda, the vineyards find an ideal location in terms of microclimate and exposure. The estate itself, along with its vineyards, offers a unique example of a walled vineyard, drying lofts for the appassimento of the grapes, areas for vinification, and cellars dating back to the 16th century, all dedicated to the production of fine wines. To this day, our Amarone and Valpolicella wines are produced from grapes which are grown in these historic vineyards, developed and aged in these venerable spaces. Tenuta Santa Maria is open for tours and tastings all year around.

My husband and I were looking for a winery tour that we could do by ourselves without a car or guide. We had seen a few comments on TA so decided to checkout the Villa. We arranged a tour via email in advance—and were able to ge there by taking Bus #21 from Verona(very easy) and got off at Arbizzano. Then you walk a bit on a gravel road to the estate. It was very easy to do-and we initially were worried about taking bus –but it was perfect.
The Villa(Exterior and Interior) and surrounding property were very beautiful. We were able to tour the property as well as being greeted by the of the villa’s owners for part of the outdoor tour and during wine tasting inside the other villa. As others have stated-it is lovely villa, an original frescoe in the hall of muses in remarkable condition, an “English” Garden in the back of property, a small “Tea/Lake house” with bridge/walkway and views of their vineyards. This all was an unexpected surprise and both tour guides, as well as Giovanni were all delightful! There is a great history here and we learned a lot-and wish them great success with their winery and changes they are making along the way.
Then onto the wine tasting, along the way you will learn that the “Mistake” of discovering Amarone actually originated at this very Villa!
If you are looking to experience the wines of the region including Amarone and Ripasso-this was a great way to do that AND see a lovely villa and property as well. The bonus for us was we were able to get there via bus very easily. If you have the chance—GO VISIT-you will not be disappointed. I was leary because there were so few TA postings, but the reviews were all spot on. Salute!

Discovered the villa and tours on TA and were not disappointed. Quite easy to find and although we did not make a reservation for the tour, it would be recommended. The tour of the villa and grounds takes just under an hour followed by wine tasting (optional extra). Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable and language was not a problem. Very interesting tour and lots of history up to the current times. Unfortunately we could not do the wine tasting though the table layout alone looked impressive!

My parents and I experienced wine tasting and tour in the villa and we are absolutely happy with the time spent there! It was even better than we expected! A huge thank to Arianna, our guide, who was very friendly and created a wonderful atmosphere during wine tasting! She spoke perfect English and gave me time to translate it to my parents, Russian speakers.
The villa itself is amazing, with vineyards and gardens, nice views of mountains. Definitely worth to see!
It is very easy to get there from the Verona bus station, it takes about 15-20 mins by direct bus #21 to Arbizzano.
I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to have wonderful and unusual experience during travelling!

Due to a problem of delay, not because of the group, worth 700 euros, complete guided tour with wine tasting, paid in full, they kicked us out without being able to visit anything. The children paid 9 euros for a glass of water. For me it's no!

Last year, I got married in Verona.
We dediced to do our wedding in this beautiful Villa.
It was just amazing; the organisation was great, hostess really nice, catering delicious...
We were lucky to have the sun so all the reception was made outside in the enormous and beautiful parc. This place is definitively amazing with his little magic lake.
In the end, I got the perfect wedding :)

What a beautiful place, our tour guide was lovely she talked about the history of the estate and then on to the wine. Throughly enjoyed it.
BUT.... do book in advance. We arrived for the 10am tour to be told that there was a coach of 40 and that we couldn’t do a tour till 2pm.
It was disappointing at the time but the lady gave us directions to a lovely place to eat and we had a stroll through the vineyards.

Upon arriving we were warmly received and welcomed. Being very lucky as the only ones for the morning tour, we had a private tour and learned a lot about wine making in the Verona area. We enjoyed learning about the wine and the tasting! We shipped home a case of wine which arrived long before we returned to the US. As we enjoy the wine at home, we will remember the wonderful day at the Villa.
I had forgotten that I purchased a tour for Villa Mosconi until I received a reminder email with the tickets a couple days before arriving in Verona; thank you Trip Advisor!

Easy to get to Winery which includes a tour around the villa and gardens. The staff are great, the tour interesting and the wine tasting informative. Judging from other wineries this tour is good value and lasts about 2 hours
Use the 21 bus from Verona which goes to Negrar, Tariffe 3 extraurbano ticket, takes about 30min buses run every 30min, the buses have electronic signs so you can see when to get off, use the Novare stop if going straight to the villa and walk 400m to the villa or get off at next stop santa maria Negrar and have lunch at the Osteria Buglioni (staff, food and wine are excellent) and walk 400m back to Novare.

We had a carefully-choreographed afternoon for our one day of tasting in the Valpolicella region -- something we had been looking forward to for months. Our first tasting was at Mosconi Bertani at 2pm. We and about 10 other people got there. The young woman started the tour at 2 and took us out to the Villa, which was fine for a bit (though honestly I could have skipped it entirely -- it was 95 degrees and humid outside, and she kept taking us around the not-that-great gardens). But it became *very* clear after awhile that she was stalling, looking for things to say, before taking us back to the tasting room. Finally at 3pm after an hour for what is about 20 minutes worth of interesting material -- and we sat. And then we sat. No wine was poured. Finally at 315 they poured some water.
Turns out they are not supposed to do the tasting without one of the winemakers -- and that guy was super late. Finally some of us said we needed to leave soon, and the poor young woman poured some wine. The winemaker came in and was obviously angry at the young host for having the temerity to pour some wine when he was super late. Roughly speaking, our 2pm tasting started at 330.
Note to the winemaker: either show up on time, or let your staff pour wine. This screwed up our whole afternoon. I don't even know if your wine tasted good, I was so irritated.

Really amazing Italian "Villa". The gardens are beautiful, they even have a cozy artificial lake! The Villa unbelievable: the paintings, the ceilings and floors are beautiful ... everything was top notch providing an unbeatable atmosphere that predisposes to enjoy great food, great conversations and live musicians, even singers of the Arena! ... Really speechless for the night lived in the Villa. Highly recommended experience ...

Hi, I can book the wine tasting tour for a specific date, but it states in the information there are three times available for each date (10am, 2pm and 6pm), I can’t see anywhere to select which time slot. If you have booked for that date can you attend any or am I missing where you select which one?

We are visiting Verona for the 2016 stone fair....then heading to Villa Cordevigo for 4 or 5 days
From there want to do wine tasting ventures each day.
Had a bottle of 2001 Bertani Amarone for dinner this evening....after breathing for half hour it was fantastic.
Also bought a 2003 Bertani Amarone this afternoon at a great wine venue called Enoteca S. Anastasia
They suggested a wine tasting at Bertani next Monday?
Is this possible for myself and wife?
Also do you ship wine to Perth Australia ?
Written 27 September 2016
Absolutely yes we are open everyday. You can find the visit schedule on our website.

How far from centre of Verona? Is there any help ie wheelchair for disabled?
Written 14 August 2016
Not far at all. 10-15 minutes by car. Not just easy access for a wheelchair, but the people here are very friendly and our group was small, so I would not hesitate to go there because of the wheelchair. The estate is wonderful
