We visited this villa and its gardens. There’s a nice legend for this place. A couple had a girl who was dwarf. So to make her believe that everyone was like her, they built small things and small furniture. They also had small people who worked for them. One day she saw a nice boy on the street and she fell in love with him. As she was dwarf and as he didn’t want her, she cried a lot and she died of grief…

Thank you, Catherine, for your review! The legend of the dwarfs is indeed inspired by the statues of the 17 dwarfs that adorn the perimeter wall of the villa and also characterize our name: Villa Valmarana "ai Nani". If you come back to Vicenza, please stop by again

What an amazing place. The frescoes are outstanding. The gardens are really worth exploring. We thought we would be there for an hour but we ended up spending almost 3 hours
it is worth giving the Villa time to explore itproperly.

Beautiful villa in the outskirts of Vicenza with magnificent frescoes of Tiepolo father and son; lovely garden with petrified dwarfs once upon a time according to legend; nice 30 minutes stroll from the center of Vicenza on the sunny spring day.

Thank you for your review Necktiel! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the garden with the petrified dwarfs, whose legend adds a touch of charm and mystery to the Villa. We are also glad to hear that you enjoyed the 30-minute walk from downtown Vicenza to the Villa, especially on a sunny spring day. The beauty of the city and its surroundings make the experience even more memorable.

We spent a special event with family and friends. It was an exquisite experience, with the best of art, culture, atmosphere and dinner. Veronica' s guidance along Tiepolos' frscoes had the "thumbs up" from both young and old generations. A very big thank you for Giulio Vortigara Valmarana, who made all possible!

a charming villa with a beautiful garden and a separated building for guests, worth a stop, especially if you combine the visit with the major Palladio's masterpiece 5 mins walk from here, Rotonda.
Just an idea - park the car here (if you are lucky to get the parking place) and see both of the villas. Parking close to Rotonda seems more problematic.

Thanks for your review! But please check on our website where you can park the car, there are many options 10 minutes on foot from here, here you may not find enough space. By the way we are happy to see you liked the visit, see you soon!

Villa Valmarana, the home of Count Giustino Valmarana, is located in the hills just outside of Vicenza and was designed by Gianbattista Tiepolo. It can be reached on foot, but, we opted for the 8 euro taxi ride from the train station. An audio guide is available and helps describe the design and contents of each of the rooms of the main house and the adjacent pallazzina. The views of the surrounding hills are spectacular and were one of the highlights of the visit for me.

This is a relatively small property consisting of two villas with gorgeous gardens. The part of the gardens included in the entrance tickets is of limited size and does not take long to see.

Each room in the villas is frescoed in a different style, one nicer than the next. It was a pleasure to be able to enjoy non-religious art in Italy.

We took a taxi from the train station to this attraction and asked the security guard to call a taxi for us when we were ready to leave.

Just a 5 minute walk from Villa Rotonda, this villa features the paintings of equal interest. A good guide in English explains the murals in each room. The adjacent guest house features murals by the artist's son.
Really worth seeing, and there is a small restaurant good for a snack.

We thank for your message, we are glad that you enjoyed your time in our villa and you could discover its history. Villa Valmarana ai Nani is the only Villa in which people can compare the art of Giambattista (the father) with the art of Giandomenico Tiepolo (his son). Tiepolo's frescoes are really priceless! Best Regards, Valmarana family.

We rode bikes up to the villa, which is a nice ride. The villa is beautiful, inside and out. I appreciated the magnificent frescos all over the inside, the furniture, and the family photos. Nice to see that this place is enjoyed by the family over the generations, with all the weddings and babies and kids! The man who sells the tickets is very helpful and friendly. Garden is very beautiful with a wonderful view.
