Today is 6th of December the day of the St Nikola - the Saint who protect all people related with the marine sector. So I feel this day twice special because I have opportunity to visit such a holly place as this one, located in Bari. The building has impressive architecture and really is remarkable touristic center. If you are... More

We visited in late november before the main feast day of Saint Nicholas, whose relics are located in the crypt of the basilica. We attended a mass which was very interesting. I was impressed by the statue of San Nicola (located at the entrance in the basilica on the right side), by the crypt where the tomb of San Nicola... More

A very impresive church. Great and peacefull. You have to move down few stairs to underground to met the remains of Saint Nicholas. We feelled so humbles here. It is an atmosphere full of beliveness. We prayed and thanked God we've been abble to visit this sanctuary.

Because I grew up in The Netherlands where St Nicholas day is very special to all (our Santa Claus, but this is the only real one ! ) I wanted to... More

We visited this church on our last day in Bari, Italy. There was a mass going on so we went through the stairs leading to the. crypt where the bones of the real Santa Claus were buried. It was a hair-raising experience for me as the atmosphere was very pious- so I forgot to take photos and just prayed really... More

This is the main, the greatest and the biggest cathedral in Bari. Its architecture leaves you speechless for a half of an hour. Wonderful!

Exceptional architecture, especially the beautiful enterence . Beautiful ceiling . The tomb of Nicola is impressive with pink marble floors and pillars. The orthodox Capella is small but very nice .
