Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice small village on the seaside. There are lot of restaurants on the beach, the view is really beautiful. There is old tuna factory.

Really not worth the trip. There is a small central square with restaurants but it was sun-baked and tired looking. It has been a terribly hot summer and fall. Beaches were tiny and un inviting. Lots of trinket shops.

Marzamemi sits on the stunning Ionian Sea in eastern Sicily. It's a tiny village worth visiting. There are several restaurants and beautiful lookouts. It's a wonderful day trip or stay overnight to relax. Just know that hotel accommodations are limited.

The town is not well preserved, many shops and restaurants closed. Could be more atractive. Not worth the trip

In the east side of the Sicily Island, in the Siracusa area, there is the beautiful little village of Marzamemi. It was an old tuna-fisher village. It's fantastic in the little ways, there are tipical store of granita and other tipical Sicillian food.

A tiny fishing village with a lot of character, mostly known by yacht owners as the berthing place where you can have a decent fish based meal. The old village core is small and quaint, great in the evening for that stroll amongst the narrow roads after a meal. followed by a gelato (a must). A nice stroll by the seaside during the night is called Italian living. Enjoying a bottle of wine with your partner in this historic romantic setting is called 'amore' .
The tonnara is a must to visit. the walls and the building s speak stories.
Away from the old part the town is well served with numerous good restaurants.

We went there on recommendation for food. At lunchtime I in mid September nothing seemed to be happening. Few cafes open and menus limited. Whole atmosphere was dreary. Public toilets a disgrace and place untidy.

Once an important centre for tuna fishing, it retains a evocatively decayed maritime complex. Eat at La Cialoma for great fishy dishes.

Place is completely overrated. Rubbish lies around everywhere, it smells rotten and people just thow their garbage on the streets and the sea. Disgusting tourist trap with absolutely nothing to see. The only purpose is to rip people off. Restaurants are ridiculously expensive, quality is bad. Please don't go there and spend your time visiting one of the many beautiful and worthwhile places of southern Sicily.
