Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In the east side of the Sicily Island, in the Siracusa area, there is the beautiful little village of Marzamemi. It was an old tuna-fisher village. It's fantastic in the little ways, there are tipical store of granita and other tipical Sicillian food.

The town is not well preserved, many shops and restaurants closed. Could be more atractive. Not worth the trip

It is a nice place to walkarround. Lovely view at the marina. Lots of traditional restaurants. Recomended for a quiet evening.

Place is completely overrated. Rubbish lies around everywhere, it smells rotten and people just thow their garbage on the streets and the sea. Disgusting tourist trap with absolutely nothing to see. The only purpose is to rip people off. Restaurants are ridiculously expensive, quality is bad. Please don't go there and spend your time visiting one of the many beautiful and worthwhile places of southern Sicily.

Small fishing village with open air plazas, some cute little shops and several restaurants that serve awesome fresh fish. The restaurant Il Borgo was closing, but stayed open for our group of 10 friends. We had an awesome meal with several bottles of local wine. Our host was a pleasure and we all agreed life is very good!

We went to see Marzameni after hearing from several people that it was a charming seaside town. We'll, there's an old tuna factory that is ok to see and a lot of pricey tourist restaurants as well as trinket sellers. The sea is nice here but I can't imagine why it was recommended. It's a bit of a sad old town where not much is going on. I wouldn't say avoid it but don't make a special trip or plan to stay too long

We went there on recommendation for food. At lunchtime I in mid September nothing seemed to be happening. Few cafes open and menus limited. Whole atmosphere was dreary. Public toilets a disgrace and place untidy.

I only learned of this place thanks to wonderful pictures I saw on Instagram. However, I knew I had to visit and so I did. Without regret. This little seaside village is a great stopover or even better for a quiet and peaceful multi-day stay. En route you will feel like maybe your GPS is fooling you, but it is the only thing around so your GPS will get you there. Parking is easy in the lot just outside the city and not expensive. There is a beach - part of which is under construction - but it is not crowded so a nice place to enjoy some quiet time. The city or better called small town has the main attraction of Piazza Regina Margherita. Here you will find some nice and very photogenic restaurants. Always by the church and on the other side by the sea are more restaurants. These places are just begging for you to stay until the evening to dine and see the sunset in this charming little spot. It is less than 1 hour from Siracusa (Syracuse) so think about an overnight trip here or at least a day trip visit. I came midday but wish I would have ventured here in the evening to experience this nice little place at sunset and into the night.

Stopped here on our guided tour of the area, and it’s a lovely place to stop and take in the atmosphere there’s some bars to get a coffee etc, and there are some lovely little shops to buy yourself a souvenir or two, plus a couple of scenes from Inspector Montalbano were filmed here, a very pleasant place to visit.
