About
Since 2009 we have made it our business to make sure that visitors of our beautiful island have a most pleasant stay. Our multilingual guides (English, German, Italian, Spanish, etc.) have become a real trademark of Go-Etna. Who could bring a foreign country closer to you than a local? Getting to know the place by taking a “look behind the scenes” – we have been following this principle for years. Beside the classical highlights, our guides will show you the authentic Sicily from their perspective. Among our standing and satisfied customers we reckon hotels, camping sites, cruise ship passengers, company clients, travel agencies, tour operator and tourist facilities in the area of Catania and Taormina. The GO-ETNA team and our partners have the ability to meet the requirements of all our customers, with a team of experienced staff, a well-equipped vehicle fleet and technical material.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The overall tour was very informative and a great experience. It is not a 4WD tour (in a mini-bus that stays on the local streets/roads) and our guide was very informative about Mamma Etna and how she influences the local culture and rural industry. He also explained the geology in easy terms for all to understand. We visited a lava flow, a lava cave, and did approx 2.5km walk on the lower slopes. He was mindful of our safety and personal security at all times. Very enjoyable.

We did the half day 4X4 tour and whilst Etna is amazing, for us this tour was not. Please be aware that you will need to be able to leap from rock to rock like a gazelle, bounce when you fall, and be happy walking on scree in a high wind with steep drops on either side. That wasn't us. I fell. My husband fell. Days later I am still taking painkiller. When I fell the guide said 'oh I've fallen there 20 times'. Yeah. Useful. That particular bit was so steep I didn't realise it was even a path. Also note: the half day tour ends at the 'base camp' for hiking and ski-ing. The guides then stop for 30 mins to eat a panini and have a coffee. You are left to your own devices (in the cold and wind) before they transport you back to your accommodation.

Walking through black soil caused by volcanic ash, it feels very surreal at times. Got to walk along and inside old craters and even a cave formed by lava. Tour guides are super knowledgeable and friendly. Samuele spent half of the day making jokes about Juventus and pineapple on pizza but when it came to the history and environmental impact of Etna, our tour guide Samuele was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Samuele also provided us with advice to make the most of our holiday in Sicily in general. Will definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

We had a great half-day tour of Mt. Etna. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, the scenery was amazing, and the hike was challenging but manageable. Highly recommend!

Salvo was amazing - from pickup at our hotel in the morning to the minute he dropped us off. We had a nice day out and it was very chill but informative. Although almost off season, we were able to go up to a viewpoint at Etna near 2500 meters after which we had a lovely walk around the craters near the cable car station, lunch and ventured into some lava flow caves. It was a great experience and we greatly appreciate Salvo’s care and easy going guide. Would very much recommend! Greetings from Hungary! R&A

We went on the Etna Emotion 3000 tour. Pick up was on time outside our hotel, our driver Marco was polite and pleasant. We arrived at the Refugio Sapienza where we met our Etna guides, after an initial briefing we caught the cable car to the top station where we then traveled further by Unimog up the volcano to 2750m high. Here we had a talk given by the guide and too photographs of the summit. It was very windy and chilly at such an altitude and recommend taking a warm jacket, trousers and sturdy footwear. On returning to the cable car we then walked to a warm crater for another talk by the guide, this was a strenuous climb on loose lava gravel but worth the effort. We then returned to the Refugio for a meal, it was tasty and plentiful, with good vegetarian options and wine. After the meal we went to a lava tube cave and walked the length of it about 50 meters, we were given helmets as the ceiling is quite low, but I'm 6ft and managed ok. It was then back to our hotel. A long day but not one to be missed, an experience well worth doing.

Very nice site to visit but do not leave anything valuable in the guide's vehicle. My cash has magically disappeared from my bag after the visit.
