Messina was a nice place to visit. Seeing Neptune’s statue was very interesting. There is not a lot to see in Messina but when you are on cruise it was fine.

The architecture of the fountain looks nice but there was no water as well as in the other Messina fountains, it was strange as it was August and hottest days (+30-33C)

This impressive sculpture of Neptune, the god of the sea, was not far from where we docked our ship. Not a lot to do in Messina the day we were there, but its a good launching spot to explore Sicily.

Incredible piece. Just keep in mind, the statues are not the original ones. Those are found in the Museo Regionale, after they survived the earthquake

Our taxi driver stopped here and encouraged us to visit this fountain of 1557. I read about this before visiting.
