Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Foro Italico is a huge expanse of green space on the seafront in the Kalsa District of the city. The seafront was commissioned by the Viceroy Marco Antonio Colonna in 1582 and was enlarged in 1734. The whole area was destroyed in World War II and it was not until the late 1990’s that a redevelopment plan was created for the waterfront area. Foro Italico is a relatively peaceful area compared to the chaos of the city. I visited in late July 2020 when it was mostly deserted and I enjoyed my time there.

This is a great part of Palermo. Take a 10 minute wander away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and you reach the sea. There is a great lookout area and shaded park with benches. The rocks by the sea are perfectly climbable and you often see people fishing off of them, or diving into the sea. The wild cats and kittens living among the rocks are also very cute, if extremely saddening.

Small park towards sea front, where people were playing football on Sunday afternoon. We used it to get back to the city, it's mainly just a large grassy field.

Do not miss this place when you are in Palermo. One of the best parts of the city where you can have a good walk enjoying wonderful seaviews.

From our apartment on Via Butera we had panoramic views over the tree lined Foro Italico stretching into the distance. It begins at the fine Porta Felice, adjacent to Via Vittorio Emanuele. There is an impressive nautical artwork comprising the bow half of a rowing boat, which looks lovely in the fading evening light.
It is a gorgeous space providing ample opportunities for walking beside the sea. Under clear blue skies the views are marvellous. For a portion there are a curving line of multicoloured little bollards. Very attractive.

This is a wide grassed area between the seawall and Foro Italico Umberto 1 with a variety of trees, assorted statues and seating, and a cycle path near the sea. It is irrigated but maybe the water had been turned off during the winter and early spring as the grass looked distressed in many areas. In early May, like other city parks and gardens, it seemed to be awakening from hibernation. It dates to 1582 when Viceroy Marcantonio II Colonna authorised the creation a walking path along the coast. I bet the area was maintained to a higher standard for the aristocrats of the city.

Magical place particularly for sunset. The sea is a great integrate with the cultivated beach strip, behind the grandeur buildings and palm trees. An european mixed outlook

Really nice for a walk, not so much to do here, but if you need to escape from a city, its a good place to escape to with nice views of a harbour

This was ok for a seafront walk, but I wouldn't make a special trip. I had imagined this as a lush, grassy area next to the sea, with a boardwalk & places to sit & enjoy the view. The view is ok of the port but there are wild cats roaming about, its not that lush & dog poo all around! Not a relaxing place to spend any time, but the only place near the city where you get a good view of the sea.
