The Orto Botanico was one of the most incredible sites I visited in Palermo. Upon entering, it felt as if I'd stepped into a fairy tale. I was surrounded by exotic trees, lizards, lemons and oranges the size of cantaloupes, flowing fountains, and statues of...More

Pleasant hour or so spent amongst towering palms and gigantic fig trees, whilst it had a somewhat neglected feel to it, certainly was atmospheric

The reason I’ve only given this park 3 stars is that a lot of it is so untidy and unkempt! Ok I come from England where our gardens tend to be very tidy and loved, but so much of this park seems to be left...More

Many University botanical gardens have free access, so we paid the 12 euros with high expectations. The garden is medium sized, plants are interesting. We did not enjoy due to mosquitos, each of us had 3-4 stings.
