There seems to be a confusion with some of the reviews...this church is in Palermo not Assisi. It is tucked away in a quiet piazza in the Kalsa district. Inside it is very decorative with a lot of beautiful Sicilian marble.

If I'd have missed this church during my stay in Palermo I would have been annoyed. It is an absolute gem.

This is one of a route of four churches in the Kalsa district. It has a baroque apse which is amazing but is most interesting because the whole history of Palermo from Norman tomes is visible in the construction and extensions of the church

I have visited twice and each time I see something new and amazing in this blessed church. The views alone are wonderous.

Walking miles from the park to get here is worth it when you finally get to enter the church and sit for a while contemplating. The church itself is different from the usual and also getting to see the tomb of San Francesco who lived...More
