At the junction of Syracuse and Ortigia island. Very nice bronze of Archemedes. It stands at the port where you get boat trips around the island.

This is a very nice tribute to a genius inhabitant of Syracuse, done with taste, but location of it maybe should be somewhere more prominent. Genius of this magnitude deserves that.

The place is very well organized and has a small crossing bridge which actually connects Ortigia island. The statue is in his honor being the birthplace.

It is a nice statue at the entrance to Orteggia. The canal is very tiny. You will pass by on your way to the island!

Actually not a lot to see but both of my kids knew who Archimedes was from school and liked seeing a statue showing this is where he lived. Worth making the stop.

This statue is on the left as you leave Ortigia. There is quite a bit of visual information around the statue carved into the base such as the box in the water which links to his work relating to water displacement. It is possible, although...More
