Take some time to visit this museum because their collection is huge! Impressive collection, nice explanations. A little bit too many objects though, they should try to improve quality upon quantity. Apart from that, great museum!

We found this to be both unexpected and extraordinary. It was meticulous in its collections of relics and ornaments, ceramics and shards excavated from the area of Syracuse and its environs, possibly extending in an arc of 15 miles or so around the city proper....More

Well worth a visit (note it closes lunchtime on Sundays). There is an extensive coin collection in the basement which is very interesting though it does extend your visit if you spend too much time there. We spent 3.5 hours in the museum. The exhibits...More

You are guided through the museum from neolithic ages to Spanish occupation. The artifacts are fascinating. You csn get a combined tcket to see the archeologocal park as well for €13.50. Good value
