Beautifully displayed Venetian art and sculpture from around 800-1800. Many but not all of the works have some explanation in English. The most famous artwork on display is the Annunciation by Antonello da Messina.

The Annunciation by de Messina is a masterpiece and worth the trip. The rest is relatively uninteresting. Worth watching the video about the restoration of the painting.

The art and many artifacts include dating and information in both Italian and English. We especially appreciated the room arrangements in order to...More

Just a great place to learn more about the varied art history of Syracuse. 8€ entrance fee is worth it, and the museum is well laid out and information in Italian and English.

Enjoy the architecture of the palace setting as you see medieval religious art, sculptures and artefacts. The exhibits are set out sympathetically with plenty of room between them to allow space for reflection and enjoyment. We were almost the only visitors and the peace added...More

This Museum is very fine. If you are unimpressed with the 4 rooms on ground floor DO NOT be discouraged. Head for the extensive displays on the 1st floor - textiles, mosaics, ceramics, paintings and sculptures.

The building itself is gorgeous and beautiful example of restoration. The exhibits are about 15 rooms and courtyards with items from 14th to 19th century. Some wonderful drawings by Filipo Paladini (c.1560)
