Enjoyed wandering the streets of Taormina. Great shops to stop and explore. Loved just walking around and people watching

This is useful as a reference or meeting point and stands to mark the entrance in/exit from the town, but beyond that it is not really a tourist attraction.

Both this Porta Catania di Taormina and Porta Messina are situated on both ends of the main street and offer great views in- and outside the center. Beautifull and historical scenery!

The main entrance to the shopping street close by the taxi rank. It is quite a statement entrance and adds to the anticipation of what is beyond.

Impressive entrance gate at the opposite end to Porta Messina. The Palace of Dukes of San Stefano is nearby - you can admire the architecture from the outside.

This is the gate at the western end of the main pedestrianised Corso Umberto. You could easily walk through without even noticing it. Don't make a special visit, but take a quick look as you stroll along the Corso.

The Gate is located at one end of the Shopping Street. And you can find a really good super Market around the Corner with lot of Food specialties from the Region. But it offers Cold Drinks or really good Prosecco too.

We walked through there early in the morning and during the day - you just have to find the street which is about 1 person wide (one slim person wide). I love this place. There's a shop window near the church which has a sign...More
