About
The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

The fact that this theatre built in the 3rd Century BC is not only standing but still in use today is amazing. We had a guide who started with the ancient history, then once in the entry, we saw a short video before walking all...More

We don’t know what impresses us more, the fact that this beautiful Greek theatre survived the wars of conquering nations since 3rd century BC, or that they still have concerts here. With breathtaking views of Mount Edna and the sea coast, this tourist attraction has...More

Well preserved amphitheatre with great views of Etna. Been here many times but always appreciate how special it is. The last time here saw Paul Simon playing in the amphitheatre with lava flowing out of Etna in the background. What a memory

Spent a hour exploring the amphitheater today. They did a good job renovating the place. Only bad today was they had a lot of recording equipment and a stage that took away from the history.

Really spectacular theatre with unbelievable views. Really worth taking a short walk from the centre of Taormina to see it. I believe they also do performances there of Opera etc

We visited the Ancient Theatre on a beautiful sunny day and there were amazing clear views looking out to sea and surrounding areas. It is an amazing place and well worth a visit just for the views themselves.

I went early to avoid the tour groups. Amazing to wander around this historical site. Set in grounds with incredible views across Taormina and to Mt Etna. The videos at the end worth watching. Definitely worth the visit.

This is one of the most beautiful spots in Sicily. There are still shows performed at this site, and I would LOVE to attend one. It must be amazing. Highly recommend!

Recently hiked up to the top of the Ancient Theatre. Amazing to think that concerts are still held there today. Well preserved and perched on a hill so there is an incredible view.

We did other things until 5:30pm, when we entered. It closes at 7. We had it nearly to ourselves at the end. Were the last ones out. It’s cooler and the light is superb.
