This unique Florentine piazza is the center of the artisan quarter. Dominated by the last masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the Basilica of Santo Spirito, the square is home to little local markets and antique fairs.

We have stayed in the Santo Spirito area twice now and both times absolutely loved it. Yes - it is bustling and at times noisy, but everyone congregates here - elderly ladies buying fresh fruit and vegetables on weekends, students getting together for drinks at...More

We were taking an evening stroll our 1st day in Florence, and looking for somewhere to grab a bite. We wondered over to Piazza Santo Spirito and loved the look of the square. We decided to eat in the Piazza at Bar Ricci. We sat...More

The square is lovely, shops and restaurants are used by locals and travellers alike, as the sun sets the square is warm with a yellow hue, the best spaghetti ever is served in the restaurants

A lot has been written about how this is a popular place for the locals who hang out at the bars for the happening night life here. Sadly, this is not true. There are a few bars here that are no better than other places....More

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria

Santa Spirito is not far from the main areas. At Santa Spirito you can find a good mix of locals and tourists. There are great restaurants over there. On certain days there is also a market. We loved the atmosphere there.
