The area
Neighbourhood: Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This street, running from Piazza San Marco to Piazza del Duomo, is dedicated to the Ricasoli clan, who had their palace at Piazza Goldoni, but along this street, Bettino Ricasoli resided. He was a Florentine politician. The name was changed in 1847 to the current name. Located along this street are theaters, historical commemorative plaques, majestic palazzos and the entrance to the Accademia Gallery.

This street runs from Galleria dell’Accademia to the Duomo. The street is home, in addition to numerous restaurants, shops and civic buildings, the National Animal Protection Agency (ENPA). It is the easiest way to the Accademia if you are at Piazza del Duomo.

This is an ordinary, yet historic, street.
The street connects two major square in Florence and is filled with shops and eateries.

Average food. Over priced, VERY overpriced. €10 for a VERY small portion of eggplant as an appetiser and a teaspoon of parmesan cheese. Definitely will nor return.

Via Ricasoli is a historical street, named after a famous, wealthy Florentine family. It is worth walking along this street, because it's surrounded by very interesting buildings. It is located between Piazza San Marco and Piazza del Duomo. However you will walk on this street because you will, hopefully, visit the Galleria dell'Accademia, to view some of the most magnificent art works you will ever see, among them Michelangelo's David, and many others. The street is full of cafes and restaurants and a large variety of other shops. A lovely street indeed.

We booked our apartment here for 4 days and also tried a few breakfast options on the same street (all were very good and completely OK in terms of price), ate cannoli, and visited a very good steak restaurant.
