Great afternoon in wine country

This was an excellent trip! One of the highlights of our honeymoon to Rome. We learned so much about itilian wines, I'll never look at wine the same way.

The winter Tuscan Wine Tour by Grape Tours was a highlight of our vacation in Italy! The day was just magical. Rikka was very knowledgeable, personable and welcoming. The wine tasting, lunch, and cheese/meats sampling was very generous and delicious! It exceeded our highest expectations. A wonderful opportunity to learn more about the region's wines while enjoying beautiful views of... More

This was a fun little tour to introduce you to chianti wines and some other local produce like cheeses and olive oil. Compared to other wine tours I've been on which are also good quality, I would say it's a bit pricey so I did expect a bit more, such as a secondi for lunch or a bit more variety... More

Florence is a beautiful city that offers an incredible array of things to during your stay, but you would be remiss if you did not set aside a day for our tour. I didn't catch the name of our guide, but Ilaria sounds right, and she was so kind and informative and responsive to our questions/requests. I don't do a... More

I came here with my boyfriend and loved every moment. Our guide Elaria (excuse my spelling) was funny, knowledgeable, professional, and sweet. We loved this day in Tuscany, visiting the wineries (shoutout to Tony and his wealth of knowledge). If we are ever again in Italy again, we'd do this again in a heartbeat!

Being winter we only visited two wineries, and loved both. Our tour guide (Riikka? Excuse the spelling) was very bubbly and knowledgable and our driver ensured we got there safely. Our meals were all fresh and home cooked and the wines were well paired with the food served.

We had only two days in Florence, so we were looking for a tour that could take us to most of the things worth-seeing and experiencing while in this area! "Tasty Tuscany" seemed like a good idea and thankfully it was!!! It included a wide range of experiences, places and food. We started by visiting a gelato maker, who was... More

My wife and I took the Winter Wine Tour on 3 Jan with Rikka (forgive my spelling) who was our guide and sommelier to the Chianti region. The day was fun and informative, with only a few exceptions that were outside our expectations. Learning about Tuscany and its wine from Rikka was easily the best part of the experience -... More

Dear Xiao, Thanks for joining us & for your comments about our Winter Wine Tour. We’ve addressed the problems that you felt made your experience less enjoyful with the wineries so that we can guarantee a better service in the future. That said I think that some people prefer to look at the glass half empty rather than half full.... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
