I participated in the Vintage Vespa tour with Stefano as well as the Cinque Terre Tour with Sara. Both tour guides were phenomenal and truly made each tour great. I personally enjoyed the Vespa Tour a bit more simply because who wouldn't love riding around Florence in a Vintage Vespa. With this being said my girlfriend slightly preferred the Hike a bit more. For the Vespa tour we shared a vespa and highly recommend sharing but if you are with a group of friends 3+ everyone having their own vespa would also be a blast if no one wanted to share. Highly recommend both tours and highly recommend requesting either of the two guides above if you really want to have a fun time.

Hello Tyler, When you say that your girlfriend slightly preferred the hike, does that have anything to do with your crazy driving? ;)) hahaha. Jokes apart, we love to hear that you strongly recommend both tours and our tour leaders Stefano and Sara. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Kind Regards Walkabout

Me and my partner really enjoyed this tour. The guide Olivia really looked after everyone and we felt very cared for throughout. She took the time to tell us everything we’d want to know from toilet locations, food recommendations and of course information about the places we were visiting.

I’d really recommend this tour if you want to explore a bit more of beautiful Tuscany and either don’t have the time to explore solo or just want to visit these amazing places with ease.

We booked this trip last minute because we had a day in Florence with no plans and it was 100% worth it!!! You will stop at 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites-Siena and San Gimignano- and they are absolutely charming. We loved San Gimignano (and its world champion gelato) and plan on coming back just to stay there. This history and architecture of both cities is amazing. Lunch is at an organic vineyard and farm. Wine tasting is included, and the wine was pretty good! Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. You do spend a lot of time in a bus, which was very comfortable, but be prepared for the tour to take up the entire day 7am-8pm. Still highly recommend this tour!!

when testing the vespa for the vespa tour, I was nervous at first but felt like I was getting the hang of it, and was confident the second time around riding it that I would be okay for the tour. Tour guide tried to tell me that i was an unsafe driver and was “insecure” riding it and made it seem like i shouldn’t do the tour and the only other option was to ride in a cramped back seat with other people in one of their fiats, even though I payed for my own vespa, which cost more than riding with other people. He had made it seem like the tour had lots of tight turns and was mostly gravel paths, which is why someone “as insecure as me” shouldn’t go. On the actual tour, the roads were fine. When I asked later about why I was singled out and told it would be unsafe, I was told that “it’s hard to judge whether or not someone will be safe”- even though I had already confirmed that I felt confident enough on the vespa. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that they told/convinced all but one woman on the tour to ride in a car rather than take the vespa. I am a rather small, young woman, which I think is why they didn’t think i could handle the vespa, and why I didn’t end up getting the experience I payed for. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed that I had to miss out on what could’ve been a once in a lifetime opportunity because I was judged unfairly and convinced I was unworthy.

I have spoken to the guide who has confirmed that, after seeing you on the test run, they suggested you should consider going in the Fiat instead of driving the Vespa. The only reason for this was for your safety, it was nothing to do with your gender. Please remember that our guides have a lot of experience and have good judgement when seeing if people can safely do this tour. He was trying to be polite in his answer. It is true that there are in fact some difficult bends on route which can be dangerous if someone is not confident. This you can only experience if you are actually driving the Vespa. It is also true though that unfortunately the tour is harder for smaller people as they do not have the security of being able to balance themselves when they cannot easily touch the ground when on the Vespa. This is more so for 'new' drivers. We are happy that you were still able to do the tour in the Fiat so got to see the beautiful views and experience the food and wine on our private estate though we are sorry that you did not enjoy this experience as much.

A colleague and I went on the Siena, winery, San Giamingnano and Pisa tour. I found it very easy to find the meeting place at the train station, and we were off to a good start. Sarah was our tour guide on the bus. She was extremely pleasant and I appreciated her conversational tone while sharing bits and pieces during the drive. A different guide, AnneMarie, led us through Siena and she was absolutely delightful as well as knowledgeable. The stop in Siena was my favorite part of the day. Although we selected the option of not participating in the wine tasting and being able to spend more time (and have lunch) in San Giamingnano, they really didn't want to do this. It was strongly suggested that we stay with the group to have lunch at the winery we toured, so we did accommodate and paid the additional 25 euros each. The lunch was delicious, the farm tour was interesting, and the scenic views were unmatched. It really was a beautiful way to spend some time and relax among the Tuscan hillsides. We then went on to San Gimingnano which was a pretty little hilltop town with lots of souvenir shops. Lots of them. We never made it to Pisa, since we had the meet up time wrong and ended up missing the bus by about 10 minutes. They tried to email me, but I normally don't check my email when out touring. A What'sApp message came in once I called the office to find out what happened. Apparently there were guests on the tour with specific times for climbing the tower in Pisa, so they had to go. I'm glad we were not injured, or unable to get ourselves back to Florence, because we would have been out of luck. The advice we were given was to take a bus then a train for a 3 hour trip back to Florence, but we opted for a 1 hour taxi instead. Mind you, Walkabout said there were no taxis. I understood why they left, but I was unhappy with the lack of customer service once we were left behind. Surely that has happened before: why no resources for what to do if you're left in any of the cities visited other than a phone number which wasn't answered? Why not have everyone write down the meeting time or say the time back to you as they leave the bus, particularly after wine tasting? Why no telephone numbers collected as we made the reservation or boarded the bus? It was absoultely our fault for misunderstanding the time, but there seems to be a lot of room for improvement when this situation happens again, and of course it will. One bit of customer service that was appreciated were all our bags and jackets being dropped off at the hotel once the bus returned to Florence. That was nice.

We are very happy that you enjoyed the tour up until the unfortunate incident of missing the bus in San Gimignano. The guides do indeed repeat the departure time and place several times and we did our best to contact you in order to give you assistance though we were unable to get through to you. As you pointed out in your review, we were unable to wait any longer as that would have infliccted negatively on the rest of the group but we did our best to avoid leaving you!

It’s a long day but a great trip! Sara, our tour guide, and Fabio, our driver made getting out to the countryside easy, safe and very informative. Sienna and St. Gimignano were beautiful. The Leaning Tower of Pisa (plus the Basillica) was an amazing experience to climb. But the warmest and more relaxing experiments was sharing. Wine tasting lunch with our bus mates. My wife and I met others from England, Italy and India which made for pleasant conversations and shared laughter.

We spent a fantastic day touring Siena, having an incredible lunch in a working organic farm/vineyard, and also touring the gorgeous San Gimignano. Our guide, Olivia, was fantastic; and could not have been more attentive, informative or lovely. The lunch at the vineyard with the view of San Gimignano in the distance, was surreal. The meal was fantastic and the vino flowed freely. The Tour was absolutely worth the price and saved so much coordination if we had tried to do it on our own. The tour also included Pisa, which … once you've seen it, I can't say I'd need to go back, but it was worth seeing the one time. I highly recommend this company and this tour.

Saira was awesome, very welcoming and knowledgeable. Roberto the driver of the huge 4x4 always helped the ladies off the vehicle and kept us safe on the roads and off roads!!
The wine tastings and lunch were amazing.

12 hr day. Incredibly well planned day.

Be certain to arrive a bit earlier to be able to sit near front of bus (if that matters to you). The line does queue up early.

We hit several cities. Everything was exactly as advertised. Completely organized. Headphones with radio sets provided for touring some places. You might want to use your own if you have a set.

Elisa, our all day guide, was ever patient and full of information. We also had a wonderful local guide, Kathleen, in Sienna.

Lots of time to rest between cities on bus. Still, a 12 hour day.

This is not for folks who cannot walk a distance or climb stairs (on/off bus). We walked over 6.7 miles during the day despite our time on the bus. Bus AC/heat was comfortably set.

Approximately 50+ person capacity on bus which was full. That’s a lot of people. But managed quite well by our guide.

Note: Bus does not have power outlets or WiFi. Water available for purchase)

Amazing day in the mountains of Tuscany, thanks to Lavinia (our guide) and Roberto (best driver)!

Me and my partner had a great wine experience, all the guides are very knowledgeable and attentive, and we visited places we didn’t even think existed!

Lavinia thought us some tricks to understand and rate the wines which will be very helpful.

The lunch was delightful with the beautiful view of the vineyards and we ended the wine tasting in a beautiful countryside mansion! No better way to understand how the Tuscany culture influenced the chianti wine and still does.

Can 100% recommend!
