My husband and I visited Florence for our 10th wedding anniversary. Our guide was knowledgeable, witty and enjoyable company. Our tour was informative; full of history but not dry or overly instructive. Our meal was phenomenal and some of the best we enjoyed during our stay in Italy. We hope to return to Florence in a few years and will... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the Cinque terre tour which included part trekking and part taking the train. Tour guide Fabian from Walkabout tours was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and kept us engaged throughout with his cheeky sense of humour.

Definitely a must if you are staying anywhere around Florence. The 5 villages are amazing and breathtaking nestled amongst the cliffs overlooking the ocean. What made the tour a highlight was the tour guides. We were fortunate to have Francesco and Matteo as our guides. They were knowledgeable and hilarious, making a good tour into a awesome one.

In October my husband and I took a cooking class in Florence. Although neither of us knew what to expect, it turned out to be a highlight of our 2 week trip to Italy. Our guide, Gloria, went above and beyond to make our day enjoyable. The location of the school is stunning, overlooking Florence. The weather was perfect. The... More

This was a day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence, as part of our Italy honeymoon. We toured all five villages with transportation between them by car and train. We also hiked about three miles between two of the villages. I don't recall exactly how many were in the group but I think it was around twenty. The scenery was... More

My teenage daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our day spent cooking and walking about Florence, with the lovely Gloria. We were an assorted group of foreigners, but we all had a super time. Our tour began walking through the old part of town and shopping for the day ahead. It was filled with bits of history and anecdotes about food... More

We started the day meeting at the walkabout office in Florence. There we met Lavi and the rest of the group that would be on the tour. We walked with Lavi to the vege store, bakery and the central market to buy the food that we were going to prepare at the farm house. On the walk Lavi gave us... More

Too much sands in the seafood and small flies everywhere in the restaurant, but they did not blink to charge us full price. Very low quality service.

I took a girls trip to Italy with my sister and a friend, we didn't have much time to spend in Tuscany so this seemed like the perfect way to get an authentic experience and the tour definitely didn't disappoint! Our guide Lavinia was great and helped make the day so enjoyable! The chef's Carmela and Issac, along with the... More

I spent about two months traveling around Europe this summer and my Cinque Terre Trek hosted by Fabian was, by far, my favorite day! We spent a full day traveling and hiking to each beautiful village with such a delightful host. The pesto and sea food offered at lunch was absolutely incredible and I definitely worked up an appetite hiking... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
