It is full of amazing historical architecture. It is a cultural delight. During my stay in Florence I was always in awe whenever I was in the piazza.

The Duomo building, most of it recently beautifully cleaned, is gorgeous and rather striking. But the piazza is very crowded, and led with stores and eateries (bars, gelato shops and such) that charge ridiculous amounts for their wares. A spritz on the piazza will set...More

Very crowded. Worth visiting as part of the art viva walking tour to get easy access. A long wait in the hot sun otherwise.

The interior of the Duomo pales significantly to its phenomenally decorated exterior. Walk all around the masterpiece of architecture and do not miss even one of the stunning details that make this piazza such a favorite.

Packed, packed, packed! But you can't go to Florence without spending some time here admiring the Duomo, the splendid Baptistry and the utterly awesome bell tower.

For 10 Euro you can climb to the top of the Duomo (the dome) and the bell tower. The line to enter the Duomo was 2.5 hours of standing in the direct sun but it was worth it. It is 464 steps and VERY VERY...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by

The historic center is characterized by the immensity

brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is

You can visit it any time of the day. The restaurants in the piazza are open till late and you can always walk down the nearby roads and find lots of stalls for road side shopping.
