Climb the millions of steps to San Miniato and listen to the monks chanting their vespers. Beautiful, quiet , cool and peaceful- with a breathtaking view of Florence as you exit.

We climbed hundreds of steps to reach the church - 105 from the Piazzale Michelango and well over a hundred to get there. Hard work for someone with asthma - but well worth it!

Inside is very beautifull, and very dark. On the outside is great the graveyard is nice and the view of Florence is the best.

Only lit by a small bit of natural light, the Basilica di San Miniato is a very unique place. People respected the silence of the church and it was quite a nice experience. The paintings are quite unique since they are directly on the walls....More

this little church across the Arno is not on most people's A-llist - which is just as well for those who visit it. However, the entire experience is well worth it. The walk itself - especially with a little detour through Piazzele Michelangelo - is...More

Well you are a bit higher up..but if you dont want to climb up all the way, you can stay at Piazzale Michelangelo. Only the atmosphere at the church is very different. More serene and special and less tourists
