This was a half day walking tour for 6 people. Angelo arranged it very well, checking at the start what everyone was most interested in. We visited the main sights of central Florence, bypassing the museum lines because Angelo had pre-bought the tickets. He has a passion for Florence, & its' culture & that came over in the tour. He... I was in Florence this spring with my parents and decided to organize a guided tour with Angelo. Since I've been to Florence many times before and have also lived there in the past I thought I would be just tagging along for the ride. What a pleasant surprise and highlight of my trip to have found Angelo. We worked... More

My wife and I hired Paola Angelini (info@guidedflorencetours.com) as a private tour guide while on our vacation in Italy this Spring. Paola led us on a full day tour of Florence focusing on its medieval history and Renaissance art. Paola has a very engaging personality. Paola has a very professional demeanor but she is also warm and friendly and we... More

My husband and I have just returned from a morning with Angelo...knowledgable, witty and passionate. From his initial correspondence with us back in Australia, I knew that we were in the hands of a professional. Meeting us promptly at our hotel, we set off at a cracking pace and I wondered why more people didn't avail themselves of this opportunity... More

Our tour with Angelo started in the early morning sunshine in a cafe with delicious coffee and pastries. The conversation turned to food and the special cattle that make the meat in Florence so good. We walked across the Piazza to a Brunelleschi Church where he explained the revolutionary use of human scale in the renaissance architecture .In a side... More

A Great Tour of Florence! Angelo's tour is fun, entertaining and knowledgeable. A wonderful way to see the highlights of Florence and learn about the fascinating history of the city and Italy. A friend of ours recommended Angelo. We are glad we took his advice. Angelo was very knowledgeable and a really nice guy. We opted for a customized tour,... More

After dreaming of Italy for years, I finally booked a trip this past October. My most anticipated destination was beautiful Florence. I was very intimidated by all the history and art it has to offer and really wanted to do Firenze justice. A friend recommended that I book a tour with Angelo and it ended up being the best advice... We (two couples) did several trips with Maurizio during our one week trip to Florence in August 2011. It was extremely hot during our stay, and having an air-conditioned, comfortable car with an incredibly engaging and knowledgeable guide (Maurizio himself) was a wonderful way to get re-acquainted with Florence. We also spent a day with him on a magical trip... More

I fully enjoyed my Florence trip because of the tour I took with Angelo. First of all, his English is impeccable and he is warm, friendly and has a wonderful sense of humor. Trained in the italian classics, he has a well rounded knowledge of the arts, literature and history. Throughout the sites, he knows exactly what to point out... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
