This is not so much visited than other churches, what means also, that you have more time to look on the art works peacefully. It is very well decorated.

To be honest, I don't like the piazza upon which this basilica fronts and I know that colours my opinon of this basilica. I understand that the piazza is architecturally important, and that guide books suggest that it is a great place to hang out...More

I was too excited to sleep, so I venture out early. The Piazza has remarkably held it's medieval presence, with the church the highlight. Was a very peacful morning visit with beautiful religius art still drawing one's mind toward God after centuries in this church.

Low traffic. Quiet interior, and an opportunity to just be with history and greatness. Da Vinci stayed in this are when he was in Florence for four years. It is not far from the David area... behind it two-three streets. Worth the stop in.

This is an interesting church, but so many of the paintings need cleaning. It appeared that a cleaning project was underway in one section. I would love to come back in several years to see more of it cleaned. Still, an amazing place.

We stopped to visit this church just because it was close to the Academia Gallery. We absolutely loved it, it is beautifully decorated and very quiet. It is definitely worth a visit.

Gorgeous Basilica dedicated to the Annunciation of the Angel to Mary. The beauty reflects the faith of the many artists who made this facility reality thus inspiring the faith of Christians today.

The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a
stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence,
surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking
students provides the tranquil surroundings for the
elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read
the daily newspaper. Home to several universities,
including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one
of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A
