This piazza is light and airy, with a lawn and public benches. It's a great place to relax and listen to the buskers. The cafes surrounding the piazza are good value for outside snacks and drinks. The church also provides an interesting backdrop.

Beautiful piazza. There is a rose garden is the center and the subtle fragrance of the roses wafts through the square. There are several restraints, cafes and a fantastic geliteria. In the evening, there are musicians playing.

We had been in the church and came out into the piazza which was a lovely surprise as there were formal gardens laid out with areas of laen and flower beds. There is a tall obelisk supported on each corner by tortoises! Great photos of...More

Aside from good views of the church of Santa Maria Novella during sunsets, this place also becomes alive whenever musicians provide free concerts in the piazza. Aside from these, tourists could also spend time sampling various food and/or drinks from restaurants dotting the side of...More

Fantastic square not as busy as though right in the centre but a lovely place to stop and have a drink. There is not too much on offer here but it is beautiful and a welcome quieter stop.

Florence is one of my favourite places. This Piazza is so central with eating places, little Irish Bar, a Market and Supermarket all within a few minutes. At night this Piazza is filled with families enjoying the balmy nights and little children playing.

The church is not as big as the Duomo, but it is also a beautiful work of art. It is a beautiful piazza and you can take spectacular pictures during sunset.

This plaza is nice enough but it does not measure up to Piazza della Signoria and Piazza del Duomo. In fact, it is rather plain by comparison. The church, which serves as the backdrop, is quite picturesque but the shops and restaurants nearby are not...More

might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists
come across the constant hustle and bustle of the

stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It
is impossible not to admire the the square, housing
one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
