Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Four of us scheduled a walking tour of Florence Duomo area followed by one of Uffizi Gallery with Alessandra. She was absolutely terrific. She shared her impressive knowledge of architecture, of Florence, and art always aiming to enhance our understanding. In the Uffizi which can be overwhelming , she expertly picked out key works to emphasize the style and period of the times, always making the information relevant and very exciting. She patiently and thoroughly answered our questions and we never felt rushed. All four of us believe the tour significantly enhanced our understanding and overall pleasure to our visit to Florence. A highlight!!

We just had a private tour with Elena Calissi (elanaflorencetours.com). She was very sweet, pleasant, and knowledgable. Do yourself a favor and get the history behind all of the sights.

We had the pleasure of 1/2 day walking tour of Florence, Italy with Bernie. We've been on a number of private tours (four in our family) both in Italy and other parts of the world, but none have been as pleasurable and memorable as the one we took with Bernie. He met us at Hotel Bernini Palace (see separate review) and off we went around the city learning about history, culture, funny stories mixed in. Bernie's English is excellent and he spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. His art background works well with the museums, statures and history in Florence and his understanding of the American pop culture made him relatable to our two teenage sons as well as us parents. He is the gold standard against which all future tours will be measured. His passion for the statue David in the Accademia was the highlight of the tour. Strongly recommend this tour if your future travel plans include Florence.

We were two couples having the pleasure to be guided in Firenze by Alessandra, a town she knows by heart. Her excellent English also helped to make it a great morning. In addition she volontered to get us tickets for the Uffizis which saved us a lot of time.

Alessandra made our trip to Florence unforgettable! The rest of our Rome tours seemed ho hum, uneducated and boring in comparison. She is a fabulous storyteller and had all of us (9 year old and teen included) glued to her every word. She made fabulous restaurant recommendations, the best gelato shop during our entire Italian trip, and taught us so much about Florence, art, and sculpture. She was very knowledgable in all areas and answered all of our questions with ease. She was kind and engaged with our daughters beautifully. She was very attuned to all of us and even brought to our attention when our eldest child was ill. Thank you so much Allesandra. We will never forget our 2 days with you!

Four of us had the good fortune to have a tour with Alessandra of Florence. She met us as planned, asked what our objectives were and off we went. She is very knowledgeable and is able to put together the tour so that it all flowed so well. With no notice we were into the Accademia to see the statue of David and some of the history around that and other statures. Without spending too much time there, we carried on with the rest of the tour in order to spend quality time at a few sites rather than rush to see too many. We had a great morning and would hire her again should we ever return to Florence.

My wife and I were met at our hotel by Alessandra Pazzi who took us on a private tour of Santa Croce (both outside and inside), the Scuola del Cuoio (the leather school where we bought a beautiful wallet, glass case and journal) and finally, the Duomo. Alessandra is extremely knowledgeable, engaging and her English is flawless. She made our trip to Florence much richer with her incite and anecdotes.

We had a private tour with Alessandra this past fall. We had our children ages 6 and 9 with us. She did an incredible job! She brought the history, art, culture, and architecture down to their level and made it so interesting and fun for them. She had gold florenz (paper of course) for them to earn by finding things and getting answers correct. They used it to "buy" gelatto. We went on a paper painting demonstration which the kids thought was so cool. She really kept them engaged and interested. With so much history and art to learn about there, she really understood what the kids would be interested in and focused on that. We all learned so much on this tour! We really enjoyed our tour with her and highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with kids.

We were a group of six, four adults and a ten and an eight year old. Marilena provided us with a most informative and interesting morning tour starting in Piazza Della Signoria before moving into the Uffizi. The "treasure hunt books" made the visit fun for the children and kept their interest despite the large crowds and noisy galleries.
I would thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone traveling with school aged children. We have visited many museums and galleries in Italy and this was certainly one of the best experiences.

I really wanted to see the Uffizi again having not been for many years and knew it would it be a different experience taking two children (aged 9 and 12). We decided to pay for a guided tour as this company came up when I searched for "Uffizi for children" on-line. Alessandra was a fantastic guide. She really brought the pictures alive and the kids absolutely loved it. She more than held their interest and I think for all of is it was one of the highlights of our holiday to Tuscany - a great way to introduce your kids to wonderful art - we learnt so much and it was great fun too. Highly recommended!
