We participated in the Florence at sunset walk with food and wine with guide Alex. It was a lovely tour and Alex told lots of interesting things, even pointed out things we as tourists would not easily see. Also a great tour to discover Italian wines . In short: a must do 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Made of Tuscany provided the best tour experience that I have ever had. I booked a private sit-and-walk tour, and the guide Susanna was perfect. She was very informative, while also keeping it light and relaxed because it was so hot. She took us to a very good gelato spot and we were able to relax and get to know the culture and everything just by connecting with the guide.

This Tour met at the main entrance to The Florence Cathedral (Duomo), just opposite the Baptistery of St. John. I was slightly nervous as to how to find my guide, However she was clearly holding a sign for all attending the tour to see.

We were given insightful information on both the Cathedral and the Baptistery before walking around to view the bell tower and fabulous Duomo itself, this is the spectacular dome (The next day we returned to climb the Dome as our guide recommended it, and although very hot the view was spectacular!)

Following this we moved briskly away from the crowds and to my ideal Florence, cobbled, narrow streets with so much to explore. The guide offered a wealth of information as we passed buildings and shops in the quieter streets, before bringing us to a small church: “Chesie di Santa Margherita” We were the only people here, and in such a busy city this was a welcome moment to gather and digest the unknown information.

Next stop was Piazza della Repubblica, This is an amazing Square, with character and atmosphere alike! Restaurants and shops surrounded our group as we learned of the rebuilding of this square. Just around the corner we passed market stalls galore to get to the ‘lucky boar’ where we each in turn placed a coin in the boars mouth and let it fall into the great beneath, while rubbing the snout! (All because its lucky!)

Piazza della Signoria was our next stop, our guide described this square as a free museum, and she was so right…… I don’t think I have ever seen so many sculptures in the one place before. Michelangelo’s David to name the one I remember!!

The tour finished on the infamous Ponte Vecchio. By the time the tour was finishing (just after 7) there was a band setting up on the bridge, so we enjoyed a Gelato, the view and fabulous entertainment and atmosphere!

Great Tour, with a great Guide – Highly recommended!!

This company ruined our Tuscan vacation. I booked for 4 people e and arrived at the meeting spot a half hour early. No one had us on their list. I asked the people in pink shirts and blue shirts at the check in, I asked every bus driver, no one had our name and none of them had ever heard of Made in Tuscany. When I finally got through to the office to ask what had happened ( the office called me back after all the buses had left and we were there alone),the woman on the phone hung upon me.
The reason we came to Tuscany was to visit Seina, Chianti and San Gimignano. We were leaving the area the next day so couldn't book another tour. We were devastated. The company said they would refund my $360 but that didn't make up for the fact we didn't visit the areas we came for. The company then blamed it on someone else, they said they had contracted withanother carrier ( they never told me) and the carrier's system dropped our names. They never took responsibility. We brought my niece and nephew and this company ruined a $9k trip and the memories we hoped to make. There are plenty of tour companies, DO NOT USE THIS ONE!

Dear Gregory, thank you for your review. We are really upset for what happened to you in Florence. Big bus companies going to Siena and San Gimignano in Florence are only 2, so that the other operators, like our company, rely on them. We have had a 20 years partnership with them. They made a mistake with some reservations that day because their computer had collapsed and did not include your reservation in their list. This was devastating for you as first, but believe us, it was a nightmare for us too. You got your refund of course, but whenever you'll come back to Florence, we are extremely glad to give you 4 complimentary tickets to go to Tuscany and hopefully meet you in person to drink an aperitif together. Please accept our apologies. Susanna

Lucia, our guide, was very informative and lovely. That is the positive. We met at Pointe Vecchio and then walked to our first restaurant. It was quite a distant and the long road to the restaurant was under construction so it was not a pleasant walk. Not only was the walk disturbing, but the restaurant was on this road so there was NO view. We sat in a side room of the restaurant with the doors closed (no windows, just a table with 8 chairs). We tasted some lovely wine with appetizers (bread with tomatoes (bruschetta), bread with olive oil and bread with liver pate). We spent way too much time here. After leaving, we walked back over the Pointe Vecchio and saw a beautiful scenery with the eclipse! We continued on to the second restaurant. When we arrived at the second restaurant, it was closing so they gave us our appetizers and glass of wine to go. Apparently, we were late. One of the couples had to leave before the second restaurant because they had reservations for dinner. We took our bagged appetizers and wine glasses to a bench beside the beautiful Duomo. When we opened the appetizers, they were the exact same that we had at the first restaurant! Now, we were hungry and Lucia informed us that most places closed at 10. This was the most disappointing tour that I have ever been on.

Being a fan of gardens, we were taken aback by the mosquitos at the garden. It felt like the mozzies have not eaten for days and came charging at us the whole time we were there. Rather distracting.

The gardens has many secret and odd grottos, statues and several fountains laid over a large area of undulating hills. Not friendly for those with mobility issues. There no handicap services either. Do not recommend for children or seniors. And definitely not worth the €13 they charge.

Some nice views of the Duomo and surrounding areas of Florence makes up for some of the disappointment.

Dear John, thank you very much for your review, but you wrote on the wrong page! We are not the Boboli Gardens State Museum. Made of Tuscany is a Tour Operator operating tours ALSO in the Boboli Gardens. So you are not reviewing our tour, as you have never had a tour with us. This is your very personal opinion about the biggest and most outstanding Italian Renaissance Garden in the world. The bad side of this review is that you lower our Tripadvisor rate just because you were not attentive on WHERE you were writing. We wish you a pleasant stay in Florence! Remember: mosquitos fly in all gardens as they fly freely in nature:)))))) Please next time take a moment to check what you are reviewing......we do not know you;)))

This company charged us 140 euros per person for a day-long tour of Cinque Terre, when the going rate is 115 from the same tour company they booked (Ciao Florence), It was my fault for not checking online, but Made of Tuscany mislead us when we booked the tour. They said we would be part of two buses; we were packed, some 200 of us, into three buses. They didn't even get the lunch order correct; the actual tour operator had us down for no lunch. When I complained upon our return, Made of Tuscany basically said "too bad." I would not recommend dealing with this company at all.

Dear Mr Long, thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not enjoy the 5 Terre experience. You experienced all the services you paid for. It is a group tour by bus and you knew this before buying it, as you came three times to our office for this reservation and it took more than 1 hour and 30 minutes time all in all to explain about the experience, the meeting point, the way you could get to the meeting point, the suggestions about what to eat and what to buy and about the 5 Terre wine. You got a paper real voucher and not an email (as you did not buy it online but in our office) and also a travel map. It was a very personalized service. We also booked a taxi for you to get to the meeting point the following day. This is a service of travel consulting and not a bare online booking. The bus to 5 Terre is operated by different companies, each company has its own price depending on the service. We give a human personalized and detailed service also at the reservation desk, of course the price is slightly different from other operators

To be clear, we loved our guide, Patrizia Vigiani, my wife and I were lucky enough to have him to ourselves and he took his time to explain things to us, and he really enjoyed it, which made us enjoy it. We went WAY over the allotted time but we didn't care because he was a great guy and if you get a chance to do a tour with him you wont be disappointed. However, I was VERY disappointed that we missed sunset because it was our only chance to do it in our time there so the need to take the "Sunset" out of this tour name and if wasn't for that we would have given this 5-stars.

Dear antnee13, sorry we cannot understand WHEN you had a tour with us, not even IF you had a tour with us. We do not know your guide Patrizia Vigiani and we do not know who is HE , as you are talking about a guy, while Patrizia should be your guide, so a woman........the only thing we can see is that you made a big mistake by reviewing us instead of someone else and you lowered our rate on Tripadvisor. It is not fair at all, but we forgive you as there are many tours in Florence and you might get wrong! Have a nice stay in our town!

We had a wonderful tour today with our English speaking guide, Eleonora. She was extremely knowledgable and provided detailed background to the works of Michelangelo and Donatello during our 2-hour private tour of the Bargello Museum. We started the tour in the nearby Piazza della Signora where a copy of Michelangelo's David stands, and admired the newly restored Neptune Fountain before proceeding into the museum. If you want to learn more about the lives of these artists and the context under which they created the works on display in the Bargello, I highly recommend this tour, and particularly our guide Eleonora.

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. Eleonora is one of our best guides and she thanks you too. This tour is very original, off the classic paths and unveals the important features of the Renaissance sculpture. Most people do not know that the Bargello Museum is as interesting as the Accademia Museum. So thank you for pointing it out. Enjoy Florence and Italy! Susanna
