One of the highlights of our trip to Florence

We were fortunate to be able to visit the Synagogue and Museum in Florence with Giovanna Bossi
Who was very knowledgeable about the past and current Jewish history
She made the whole experience so worthwhile and we learned so much during our tour
The Synagogue is beautiful and it’s history is amazing especially during the war when it was almost destroyed by the Germans
Giovanna had information that we would not have known just going without the tour
The museum though small has some beautiful artifacts and interesting pictures
We have found that visiting historical places with a certified tour guide is well worth the money
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence

Giovanna was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and gave us an incredible historical tour of Florence. We learned a great deal and was impressed with the amount of research Giovanna had done. She was also amazing with kids.

A very special tour of Florence

Giovanna is delightful tour guide and offers a wealth of knowledge about the history and architecture of Florence, with a particular perspective of the experience of the Jews who played an important part of the city's history. A visit to Florences' beautiful synagogue is a must for Jewish visitors. Giovanna's enthusiasm for the city made us feel like we were walking around with a friend, and we would recommend this tour to anyone with a Jewish cultural background. I think the tour would be very comfortable for a wide variety of people because it is more of a cultural and artistic point of view rather than a religious point of view.

Steps to make history come alive

We enjoyed our tour of Jewish Florence with Giovanna. She is a kind and generous guide. She shares her personal knowledge of the Jewish community of Florence going back hundreds of years. She also points out historical facts along the way. The synagogue itself is beautiful and has a lovely museum that Giovanna will help you to appreciate.

Excellent Tour Guide!

Giovanna is an outstanding tourguide. We highly recommend her. She is very knowledgeable, super-nice, and a real pleasure to work and plan with. She completely enhanced our experience in Florence with insights that brought emotion and meaning into our trip. Bottom line: she is worth every penny.

Spectacular guide

Giovanna was very accommodating with our tight schedule. She met us at the Synagogue and gave us a lot of excellent history of Florence and the impact on the Jews, from Medieval times to present. She is a treasure to find and listen to. Giovanna was an excellent guide and I would highly recommend her! We all learned a tremendous amount from her.

Fascinating Tour

I took a private 3 hour tour with Giovanna in October 2021 but forgot to post a review. Highly highly recommended. I reached out to her a week or two before the trip (which was planned at the last second) and she provided a number of options. I ended up meeting with her on my first morning in Florence so her tour was very helpful as a general Florence orientation to set me up for the rest of my visit as well as a fascinating deep dive into the history of Jews in Florence. Many stories, we covered lots of ground, time flew by.

Extraordinary experience

Giovanna is extraordinary, she has a wealth of knowledge and passion for her expertise. She continues research of the Jewish community and brings it to light during the tour.

I have toured with Giovanna three times and each time I learn more.

Do not think twice, book her, it will be an enlightenment.

Tour Beautiful Florence with Giovanna (she is Amazing!)

How fortunate we were to have found Giovanna. We Googled Jewish Florence Walking Tours and selected Giovanna's tour based upon the wonderful reviews that we read. We are happy to report that Giovanna provided us with a most excellent tour. She is full of knowledge regarding both the art and history of Florence. She is an amazing storyteller and makes the journeys around the museums and ornate buildings a most interesting learning experience. We visited the famous Uffizi Gallery, the Acadamia and so much more. She was able to buy us tickets, which was so helpful. She knows the local restaurants for people who want to eat Kosher. And, she is so organized and pleasant to converse with and to deal with. You can email her at jewishflorence@gmail.com. She will even tell you how you can reach her and speak to her via Whatsapp. So, when you have a chance, go tour Florence with Giovanna!!!
