I have now read several stories about Philippe, the "designer," who becomes friendly very quickly near his store, and ends up leading you into his store. He insults your style, finds a way to get personal information to "bond" with you, and insists you try on his coats. Offers a 65% discount immediately and does a hard sell. At $1300,... More

I was coaxed into buying a leather jacket under the promise that I could return the jacket once it arrived if it did not fit to my liking or was unsatisfactory in any way. I was emailed initially saying they would provide a return pending a photo of the jacket on. Once I sent that, they stopped emailing me back.... More

I searched Florence for days looking for the perfect leather coat. I walked by the window and knew immediately that I had found what I was looking for. I entered the store and encountered two of the most friendly, knowledgeable people I had met yet (Vittorio and Merav). They were not only so helpful in explaining the material on the... More

Happy Customer! I love all the leather jackets I've bought at Por Santa Maria Leather! I discovered this great store near the Ponte Vecchio Bridge on my first visit to Florence nearly 10 years ago. As soon as I tried on the reversible black leather jacket, I knew I had to buy it. And that I had to return to... More

I have been to Italy many times but I had yet to purchase a leather product. A dear fried of mine was traveling with her husband as well as other couples, and told me that I must send a warm hello to the store, Por Santa Maria, and check out their merchandise and warm demeanor as it was a store... I ordered a coat in October 2013. They sent the order 5 weeks after the order was placed instead of the 2 weeks they promised. The delivered merchandise was incorrect (sleeves 15 cm shorter than my hand, the colour was black instead of blue, and the design was completely different). I requested to send back the merchandise, but the merchant... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
