Reasonable size with little to see (statue and 2 fountains aside) but peaceful and important from an architectural perspective with the Annunziata church on one side and the Orphanage on another. Colonnade represents some of the Renaissance’s earliest architecture. Visit the square and look at...More

This piazza appeared to be favoured by locals. Here there were two small monster fountains which were worth a photo. Not worth going out of your way for but a nice place if you are passing through.

The plaza is right behind the Academia gallery. Nothing much to see other than the fountain statue in the middle. Hotels all around and not maintained properly. Beware of the pigeons discharges on your head all around the plaza.

A small market was in progress during our visit but we made our way through to enjoy the statue of Grand Duke Ferdinand on his horse .

I quite enjoyed coming across this Piazza. Lots of happy buzz and no traffic. Not too busy with tourists and 3 nice statues to visit.

It's one of those places you just find when you walk in Florence. There's the statue of the horsemen in a small square. I wouldn't say make this a part of your trip but keep your eyes open.

The Piazza Della Santissima Annunziata is quite large but very quiet. There is a strange "peace" when you walk along this area. There are no shops or restaurants to speak of and looks quite unkempt and not terribly clean, at least that is the impression...More

The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a
stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence,
surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking
students provides the tranquil surroundings for the
elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read
the daily newspaper. Home to several universities,
