The Accidental Tourist was born in the spring of 1998 offering the first single-day hands-on cooking class in Tuscany. We welcome the curious and open-minded traveler in the heart of our Tuscan homes, for an authentic yet magical experience. We take a maximum of 8 people, but will go with as few as one: we never leave the solo traveler behind. We welcome families with children as we know how challenging it can be to travel with the young ones in the Old Country. AND, we charge for our tours only if our guests are happy to pay for their day with us.

We more than enjoyed our cooking class with Accidental Tourist... it was a definite highlight of our trip. From the gorgeous home that Majla and her husband opened up for the class to the actual group we had, my friend and I didn't want the day to end. We learned a lot about cooking pasta and about the history of... More

This cooking class was a highlight of our European vacation. We were picked up by our host and driven to her beautiful home. It was a historical drive learning about the history of the area and enjoying all the views. Our group of 8 started right away with making pasta. We learned about ricotta, wheat, how to chop spinach, all... More

I wanted an authentic day tasting chianti and making pasta - and this day didn't disappoint! The morning started with a trip into the tuscan hills to visit a vineyard. We were met by Jacob who explained his techniques and processes and didn't mind our endless questions. The tour culminated with a tasting session of wines, which were delicious! From... More

My husband and I did the cooking class here and it was amazing! We had a small class (just 6 of us) and made ravioli and tagliatelle. I make home made pasta back home but I learned so many tips and tricks by doing this class!! The food was amazing and after our pasta we got to have a wonderful... More

This was by far the best money spent during my trip to Italy. Mijla, her husband Marco, and Jacob (who led the wine tour) were such COOL people and had so much information to share with us. The wine tour through the winery was so informative and really changed the way we think about wine and drinking. The cooking class... More

This was absolutely incredible! We did the wine & cook on our honeymoon and it was one of our favorite experiences. It's much more than just wine and cooking! The countryside was beautiful and everything about the experience felt so authentic. We loved every minute of this! Since being home we have bought our own pasta machine and put our... More

It's actually difficult to express how great a time this was without actually experiencing it for yourself. Having read reviews myself before going, I can say that they do not begin to do justice to how enjoyable this was. Aside from the delicious food, unbelievable location and excellent cooking lesson, Malja and Marco do so much to really make this... More

From pick-up to drop off this was an amazing experience with memorable people that genuinely enjoy what they do. They invite you into their home and treat you like family while teaching you and enjoying the day together...This is a must do while in Florence as it gets you away from the hordes of people and into the Tuscan countryside...
